I think that you hit it on the head, we have a lot to learn about how we power a society without destroying the ecological foundations upon which that society rests. Banks which are predominently public owned have a vital role to play in investing in those companies doing that innovation. I dont think its sensible to be investing in expanding our fossil fuel reserves, we need to make the most of what we have and reduce our damaging level of consumption.
