Chiyo, was one of the all-time greats. He won the emperors cup over 30 times, and was the Babe Ruth of sumo. Konishiki wona total of 3. I was stationed in Japan in the USAF when this match took place, and I remember everyone in the Officer's club cheering Konishiki on, as he bested Chiyo, enroute to his first title. Great memories for sure.
