  • great player great drums everything is amazing great job!!!!!!!!!

  • actually, if you subdivide the rhythm and everything, they're 32nd notes, not 16th's. just sayin... not dissin on yer video or anything, just stating a fact so that all the "geniuses" that ARE dissing your video have nothing to say, because they're wrong.

  • more reverb

  • nice chops!

  • amazing octo sound!

  • what mics do you use?

  • For everyone wanting to make octobans:

Go to google, search for "how to build tube toms", there will be a link to a website called arrickrobotics, there you'll find everything you need to know. Sorry I can't post a link cause youtube sucks monkey cock, but just google that and you'll find it, should be the first link. Very informative and helped me a lot, I'm in the process of building my own.

    Hope it helps,

  • you are awesome!! cheers from monterrey, mexico!

  • you really nailed this one!! nice work

  • i love the sound of the crash :) is that a sabian AAX studio crash 18'?

  • how expensive are those acrylic tubes?

  • @adrumlegend Acrylic tubes ROFL (also known as Octobans) :)

  • The first one sounds a little bit fast compared to the recorded version but I'm not complaining.

    It's perfect.

  • @zomgrandomtext

It is faster than the recording, but that makes it more incredible that he can still play it perfectly :D

  • nice playin dude but here is how you can play hi hat with both hands.... 4/4 RLRL RLLR LRLR LDLL RLRL RLLR LLRL LRLL that is the main groove.....

  • @InsaneDrumer18 There's no need to play it with both hands. Sounds/looks perfect like this. I'm pretty sure MP also plays it like this.

  • @Proghead88 i know but it s easier this way.....not everyone can play with one hand that fast...

  • Actually, it's pretty Good.. But, in the intro, apart from the 2/16th notes in the bass drum you didn't do, there are 2/16th notes in the end of the fill (octovans part) that you didn't do.. Listen to Dream's Version carefuly and you'll see.. Anyways, it's a dificult intro, and you made it very well ;)

  • Love your kit man and love the home-made octobans! I hate to do it but I'm going to ask for a video on how to make them too! XD GREAT job covering this intro though man! Most people (including myself) fuck it over badly. haha

  • i lke your snare sound

  • Bellissimo!!

  • love your octabons. how big are they?

  • why do u play it so fast? someone with a gun behind u ? :P

    nice playing though ;)

  • @agentsteell It goes that fast when portnoy plays it live :)

  • spielst du in ner band? wenn ja wie heisst sie? musikstil?

du spielst sehr gut, landsmann :)

  • UR 2 GOOD!!!!!

  • Bom!!!

  • Great man! your drum sounds perfect! I hope you show us the rest of the music soon.

  • eey man, you forgot the doublebass at the intro ;) over all it's good. (mike portnoyfan)

  • Sehr sauber klingendes Set, und 1 A Präzision!!

  • sorry if this has already be answered but

can you plz tell me what drum mics are you using and if they are heavely eq'd

    thanks alot

  • thats so kool!!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • a bit too fast, and starts with a double snare hit. also you need to make the.... idon't know what its called im no drummer... tom fill? longer.

  • usually you try and get faster to impress people.

  • flawless :D

    great job.

  • How big is the china on the left by you'r splash ?

  • 18 inch

  • Nice job playing it at tempo and then breaking it down for everyone.

  • Okay thats weird. Your drums sound like EXACTLY like the one from the song :b.

  • What kind of materials did you use to build the octobans?

I've tried to build them but didnot succeed.

  • Sounds great, long live Dream Theater

  • Great Sound !!

  • Awesome job, but why not just go ahead and add those 16th note kicks at the beginning? Do you not have a double pedal? Just wondering cause it sounds way cooler with it in there.

  • best 6:00 cover on youtube.

  • kit sounds wicked

  • what country do you live in

  • Germany

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • perfect sound man and good staff

  • Where did you get those octovans?

  • I built it by myself

  • @AAXplosion Did you make the stand too or what did you use for the stand?

  • @AAXplosion For the octobans also where did you get the 6" hoops. I can't find them anywhere

  • @AAXplosion dude how did you build them, i was looking for them and i didn't find anyone

  • @AAXplosion Can you do a video on how to make octoban's like those?

  • @AAXplosion i know you built them yourself but what parts did you use? did you just find some industrial tubing some drum brackets? and just put them together?

  • @AAXplosion how dude?

  • @AAXplosion You made those octobans your self?

  • @AAXplosion

That's absolutely insane. How'd you do it?

  • @AAXplosion HOW? PLEASE TELL ME! :)

  • @AAXplosion could you give us a little explanation of how to do it, do they have bearing edges?

  • well done dude

    keep on drumming.

und du hast recht, der anfangsfill is völlig jacke wie hose. und den groove spielst du (fast) wie herr portnoy

  • Awesome! Now I wanna learn it.

  • hay did you put your mics through a computer program to get that sound out of them.

  • mics -> mixer -> computer ;-)

  • Hay with ya micing did ya use a computer program tio change the sound of the drums themselves

  • dude i love this...........but i gotta know how much them octobans cost

  • thx! they are selfmade. so they cost about 250 euros + a lot of work ;-)

  • @AAXplosion Cool drumming man! Where get you the stuff for the octobans from? I like them!

  • @drummerboy11695 He built them himself, but i do think they cost quite a lot.

  • like

  • Amazing drum mic sound, can't even tell its youtube

  • damn..how loaded do u hav 2 be 2 afford a kit lyk tht..

    u deserve it tho! :)

  • perfect sound

  • Sound awesome, which filter do you use for cubase?

  • i like your kit and its sound and of course the help for the song

  • I love it when people criticize a guy for altering a couple 16th notes here and there...calm down there nerdy nerderson....clearly he can play it very well

  • Really nice kit. Nice work on the beat. Good vid

  • what time signature is this song in?

    P.S. thanks for the help

  • Actually its not in only one simple time signature. It´s in multiple oddtimed signatures.

  • ur toms sound good

  • Thanks for this dude, I can play it now thanks to this video ftw.

  • Hey man,nice. :)

i wanna learn it to. how did you study it?

do u have a good site with the sheet music?

  • this is supposed to be a tutorial, you should learn by watching this video ;)

  • I think that when people record it, it sounds so much better than it actually does, but I'm sure it sounds really good!

  • ooo man that kit sounds real nice :)

  • @FireForFreezing hell yea....I was going to say the same thing...damn. Everything sounds perfect.

  • Are you using portnoy custom sticks?

  • hay what kind of mic are you useing

    i like the sonde

  • Wow that crash cymbal sounds amazing.

  • well done! i think you have the most importand thing to be a proffesional drummer. you play relax

  • I hope you speak english. Good technic and control: you look very relaxed while playing. This is a good thing.

But I have to tell you that you play it wrong: I mean, the opening fill is longer than how you play it. Moreover, a couple of kickdrums notes are missing at the very beginning of the fill.

  • why do all people talk about that intro roll?????

do you read the comment at the beginning of the video? It doesn't matter. The beat is the main thing ;-)
