  • ArchaelogistPhil hasn't even spelled "Archaeologist" in his handle correctly! Anyway, these videos are not about the evil rulers of the Shang dynasty--it is about the events of ancient history being incorporated as the Chinese scribes sought to symbolize ideas and actions. Overtime, and especially because of human pride to control, the Shang dictators did whatever evil they pleased. Its like the word, "Christmas;" its about celebrating Jesus' coming, but to many today, its about receiving gifts.

  • This kcpau9 guy below has a wrong interpretation for 惡, but especially in attributing evil to the Holy Spirit. Jesus spoke to such people: "Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin." Jesus said this because they were saying that He has an evil spirit” - Mark 3:29-30. That character 惡 btw, is made of "deformed" (multiple twisted lines) over "heart", which together means "evil"; certainly, any person mocking God's goodness has an evil bend.

  • When you take a small sample out of thousands of characters, another small sample out of thousands of verses in the Bible, and try to use analysis that ignore basic etymology, you can just about prove anything you want. How about this one. The character 惡 (evil) is made up of one stroke on the top representing God, one at the bottom representing the Holy Spirit, and a cross representing Jesus. So the ancient Chinese knew that putting them on your heart means "evil".

  • Everyone is a slave to something! Mockers pull verses out of the Old Testament, but only the Son of God provides answers to the meaning of life. The Lord Jesus said, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” John 8:36. “Don’t let being a slave worry you! If a slave when the Lord called you, you are now free in the Lord. If free when the Lord called you, you are now a slave of Christ. God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world.” 1Corinthian 7:21-23.

  • @LegendKnight93 The 告 reference in not "able to talk," it actually states "(able to) talk"; it could have been "(able to) tell." The point is: God "tells," and so can His creation. Some people see the connection between certain Chinese characters and Bible history. However, others reject the Bible and dispute anything that bridges the gap of human reason and faith. Ultimately, if we don't humble ourselves toward the Bible, then we only have a woeful eternity confronting us (Matthew 25:31-46).

  • @idster It has nothing to do with rejecting the bible or not. If it's unsupported by any evidence then it's just plain false. Now you flip flop between meanings of 告. Well you could "see" there is a connection but it certainly no proof there is. Assertion is not proof, far from it.

Would you like to talk about human reason and faith? How about your God condones slavery (Leviticus 25:44-46 and Exodus 21:7-11)? How do you bridge this gap? Did human reason conclude slavery is a good thing?

  • @invincibletom 聖 is the single-character religious form of "saint" in Chinese (also in Japanese and Korean, but rarely used alone). It can also mean: holy, sage, master, or priest. This character is often used in compound words to create further meanings. In compounds, it can mean holy, sacred or divine. It is also used for Holy Bible, Holy Land, and priesthood.

This character is also used as the first word for Spanish and English place names such as "San Diego" and "St. Louis" in Chinese

  • The letter 聖 means "wise man" or "rational man" when it was originally invented. We are still using it in such meaning nowadays.

    Holy? Are you kidding me?

  • Last post for mrmabb123! I called you "friend", because there is still hope for you. Considering your vitriolic posts: You called your couple interpretations as "reasoning and logic", declared my whole video as "falsehood", and insinuated that everyone not like you as "ignorant". You called me a "terrorist," a "fanatic", an "idiot", and a "dictator". You said my comments were "irrelevant", said I was of "low moral standard", "doubted (my) sincerity", and said I was "hell(bound)". It goes on...

  • @mrmabb123 Look friend, you have been just a mocker in you previous posts, and even more still. You seem to be acting in the same way as when Satan tempted Jesus by actually quoting the Bible. But Jesus eventually declared "Away with you Satan, for it is written, you shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only shall you serve" - Matthew 4:10. So friend, who is cheating here, by quoting God's word, just for accusation... If you are not serving God, you are serving that evil one.

  • @idster LMAO. I was never intended to mock you. All my previous comment were questioning Chinese genesis with reasoning and logic. And I also provided the Chinese explanation on Chinese character. The fact that you take deductive reasoning and evidence against your belief as mockery is a good indicator of you refuse to have logical discussion. When your belief prevent you to have logical discussion, how can you find the truth? We,human, can only close to hard fact by logical discussion.

  • @idster What's more, you are funny to call me friend on the one hand. On the other hand you are accusing me to serve the evil one JUST for not believe in Christian God. What a hypocrite you are. I would not consider believer to serve the evil one even though I am not one. You are obviously having very low moral standard. And you own me an apology for accusing me to serve evil.

  • who cares some do not understand the workings of God thats why the babel about idols. this is a god without an image or statue, and the name is written on stone tablets in Heaven. They acknowlegde he is not created and is the supreme creator of the universe. How much closer are you going to get than that with Allah or Tengri and El Shaddai?

  • Certainly, any comparison to the Bible is imperfect. Yet at the same time, anyone denying the Bible, must believe in some false idea or evil notion. However, it is not false that the ancient Chinese peoples acknowledged a supreme deity as Shang-Di, the Emperor Above. He was honored with necessary sacrifices. The lamb/sheep was an important aspect in their worship. These similarities only hint at the truth of the Bible: Google "tjv13n1chinese_lamb" and click on "TECHNICAL JOURNAL 13#1 COMPLETED".

  • @idster Well Shang Di's sacrifices consisted of bulls not sheep nor lambs.

  • @idster I can't believe you delete all our previous discussion. What a dictator you are. You delete all my argument against Chinese genesis and your bible in order to deceive other people as well as yourself.

Proverbs 11:1, TLB. "The Lord hates cheating and delights in honesty."

According to your religion,It seems you will be going to hell,if it exists first, of course.

  • Show us Shang Dynasty Writings and interpret it yourself since the Shang Dynasty worship Shang Di so their words will bear evidence that genesis was true. These are modern way of chinese characters and it is slowly evolve from the ancient way. instead of spouting nonsense in this video which wasted 19 minutes of my lifetime.

  • Certain mockers are nothing more than oxen anyway, and so the Chinese character for "create" (造) fits their personal characteristics perfectly; but yes, God created them too. The purpose of these video is to show that the ancient Chinese believed in a supreme Being, and worked this knowledge into the way they conveyed information. Don't like the interpretation of "one" character? Well, there are many, many more that point to the fact that the ancient Chinese worshiped one God with sacrifice...

  • @idster "Worked this knowledge into the way they conveyed information"? What do you base this on? What real information do you have other then these stupid interpretations? You're just asserting. You don't have proof. As I said earlier ppl who understands Chinese knows that it doesn't work that way. You obviously don't know anything about Chinese. Even if they did worship one God, what proof do you have they're worshipping the Christian God? You're talking about genesis though.

  • @idster It's not that I don't "like" it, it's just plain false. You want more debunking of this? Google "Chinese character genesis" and visit the 2nd website. What I didn't mention, the authors Pang, Nelson and Broadberry don't have any credentials in Chinese linguistics. They never studied Chinese as far as I know.

  • Let me debunk this: The ancient form of 造, that the upper part of 告 didn't consist of the words 土 ,/ and 口. But it was the character 牛 (ox) and 口. The vertical stroke doesn't cross the horizontal one, but the ancient does. So an ox breathed and created men? Funny that the authors only used the modern form of the characters and ignored the ancient ones. This interpretation of this character falls apart. Anyone with a fair understanding of Chinese calls all this bullshit.

  • @isamu135 At what museum or archeological site may I see this information?

  • @LegendKnight93 You could ask this at any institute with Chinese experts . But you don't even have to. There are plenty books on ancient Chinese characters. You could even do a Google search on Oracle Bone, Great seal, lesser seal etc you can see that modern Chinese characters (the ones are used here) are immensely different from ancient ones. Here is a website that debunks these interpretations. Google: chinese characters genesis and click on the first site.

  • @LegendKnight93 While I'm here let me debunk another thing on this 造 interpretation (yes, it's even worse). The translation used here on the left part of 造 = 告 is "able to talk" which is absolutely bollocks. The correct translation is:

    1. tell, announce, inform

    2. accuse

  • Do you write and understand ancient Chinese, in connection with even older ancient languages like cuneiformscript, Hamite, Semitic, Paleo Hebrew, etc.?
