The amount of money I can save from buying diesel fuel compare with FREE farm waste is staggering. I want the ABE gasifier to be installed in every farm tractors, pickup trucks, power generators in rural villagers in my country. BTW have you had clients from Malaysia buy any of you gasifiers?
I have a need to replace 4.7-5.2 GPH of standard unleaded gasoline consumption with an alternative. Do you think this unit is capable of powering that kind of consumption level? The idea of the compact and long winded unit with a HUGE hopper is great but will it sustain operation for 10-12 hours per use without breaking down? You are on the right track as far as making a product with very wide consumer appeal so don't give up this direction..
The home made ones can run about 15 hr without needing the scrubber water replaced and ash cleared as long as you keep feeding it wood every so often. They are easy to scale up in power without scaling up in size proportionately. The largest ones I've seen are called waste to energy plants. We have two here in Broward county, FL. They turn most of our trash into energy. I take it at 4.7-5.2 GPH you're driving an 8 cylinder truck? Check out the woodgas manual FEMA made for some useful info.
The engine being driven is a 4cyl and it is a for a piece of construction equipment. The short overall height might allow for some sort of continuous or semi-automated wood chip feeding system(hence my interest)
I see. Well these things are pretty easy and cheap to build and the design is very flexible. If you want a deeper ash catch then you could make it just about as deep as you want as long as it does not leak. I can imagine automatic feeding, larger scrubber, and a deep ash catch could make for one that will run a couple of days straight before you need to service it. You could also run one off of wood pellets or corn for simpler automated feeding. Any carbonaceous organic matter should work.
One thing I forgot though is that the vehicle mounted gassers are shaken by the motion of the vehicle but one running a cement mixer or generator would require manual or automatic shaking to prevent bridging and ash buildup. This could be done by having someone go shake a lever every so often or maybe by a simple motor/weight vibrator attached to the shaker handle set with a timer to spin and vibrate every 10 minutes or so.
Yes, the gas tests well. No I am not offering plans. Its expensive and time consuming to make detailed video plans and there just aren't enough people to warrant it.
When I mean output I mean how many cubic meters of gas does it produce per hour ?
Also on the subject of plans and video's I think your wrong to demand for a modern design gasifier that will power a large truck or a generator is hugh, especialy today.
I myself wish to power 20-40kw generators in Sierra Leonew in hospitals and schools we can't afford to power them with diesel or buy commercial gasifiers.
Hey Ben, why is it expensive to shoot video?? LOL We don't want to steal your idea's, I would like to work with you and help were I can!! I would really like to see what it looks like inside! If your going to sell plans then lets do it! I really really want to get something built for my house!! Soon!! With the economy going the way it is, I need my family taken care of. Let me know! thx
man i know your busy as heck...but we would love to see more on this unit. Thanks for everything!

Seeing that its called Abe, I think that you should fit it on a Lincon. Can we get the plans anywhere?

Abe's awesome sad to hear that there isn't more of a demand for plans nevertheless very cool

will you be offering a set of plans ?
