In a video a frame can contain elements from more than one frame due to how the compression algorithm works. In this video I mimicked that effect by opening one frame in photoshop then super-imposing the second frame at 50% opacity.

Yes, things in the backround are slightly distorted, and so is she. It's not the distortion that people are seeing.

There's nothing to disprove really, as they haven't proven anything. It's hard to reproduce video compression anomalies because...well they're anomalies. If you were to closely examine any lo-res, highly compressed video you'd likely find similar weird 'unexplainable' artefacts. Exact reproduction of random anomalies is close to impossible, which is why this supposed 25k is quite safe.
The distortions you see in her face are due to motion vectoring error. You can even see this when you zoom down to the pixel level. The pixel blocks use in the compression are obviously misaligned, as is to be expected at high levels of video compression. There will always be some percentage of error when using block motion vectoring. It can't be eliminated. It can be reduced greatly, depending on how compressed you want the video to be.
Getting pissed of at someone for grabbing your bag of chips is not evidence of being a lizard person. It really doesn't look like she's pissed off to me, but the video is far too fuzzy to tell either way.

I'm no video expert by no means but I did compare the "explanation footage" to the original by rapidly hitting the play/pause button and though the footage in 1:01 I can't debunk out of lack of knowledge in the field of video editing, I did see the alleged "monster hand" in the review that just was not seen in the original. My verdict is still out but the monster hand may be the silver bullet.
Bear in mind that there are over 100 shape-shifts in the video. It is a full uncut piece of video, live, with no cutaways, and the subject is in veiw at all times. Furthermore, there is only a single source of light, natural sunlight, and a 360 degree panoramic view of the area. If you are able to reproduce that, and explain how it was done, the money is yours. Multiple film experts ahve been unable to do so, but we welcome your analysis.
I'm not interested in the money to be honest. I think that seeing the anomalies in the footage as evidence for Lizard people is very tenuous at best. Video encoding techniques are wide and varied, so much so that thousands of different types of anomalous effects can be seen in thousand of different videos. What you're proposing is not science. It's the "God of Gaps" hypothesis. You're saying, 'you can't prove is not a lizard people, therefore it is.' Sorry that just doesn't wash.

I think that's admirable work. Most people just want to accept certain phenomenon as true without really investigating. What most don't seem to realise is that by boiling away the mundane answerable anomalies, what you may be left with is the truth. As much as I'm not a believer in ghosts, I really enjoy watching that Ghost Hunters (TAPS) show. I don't think their methods are scientific, as is often claimed, but they begin their investigation by trying to debunk as much as they can, rather than assuming the anomalies are paranormal, then proceeding to find evidence to support that conclusion. Which is the method of many ghost hunters.

In low-quality camera devices, like mobile phone cams, the compression is usually very high, which causes all sorts of anomalies in videos of objects moving at speed. You might get a frame made up of blocks from several other frames, creating weird and distorted artefacts.

It's a way to replicate the 'cat-eye' effect shown in the original reptile girl video. Demonstrating that there are other possible ways that the cat-eye effect could have come about.

Pause the original "Reptile Woman" video at 4:03 where it says "meet reptile woman". Nothing around her, at any time in the video, takes on the charataraistics that her skin does in this frame. Yes, things in the backround are slightly distorted, and so is she. It's not the distortion that people are seeing.

There's nothing to disprove really, as they haven't proven anything. It's hard to reproduce video compression anomalies because...well they're anomalies. If you were to closely examine any lo-res, highly compressed video you'd likely find similar weird 'unexplainable' artefacts. Exact reproduction of random anomalies is close to impossible, which is why this supposed 25k is quite safe.

The distortions you see in her face are due to motion vectoring error. You can even see this when you zoom down to the pixel level. The pixel blocks use in the compression are obviously misaligned, as is to be expected at high levels of video compression. There will always be some percentage of error when using block motion vectoring. It can't be eliminated. It can be reduced greatly, depending on how compressed you want the video to be.

Since file size is a large factor in portable devices, compression rates are very high, which means the error in placing pixel blocks is much greater. So an interpolated frame can and usually will, contain blocks of pixels with incorrect rotation and location information, causing distortion.

Well, he wont be back to reply to your comments. I blocked him. As much as I hate to do that, his comments were becoming very hateful, and somewhat violent. Though I can't understand why. I guess some people react violently when one points out the flaws in their cherished beliefs. Not that I really did that. I think UFO boy has some serious issues. I even had to remove one of his extraordinarily hateful and violent comments. I really disliked doing that, but I wont have violent posts here.

i also agree with people reacting overly sensitive when it comes to critizing their beliefs. it's funny that especially the folks who believe in extraterrestrial and supernatural stuff become totally worked up about criticism, even if it valid and reasonable

I'm no video expert by no means but I did compare the "explanation footage" to the original by rapidly hitting the play/pause button and though the footage in 1:01 I can't debunk out of lack of knowledge in the field of video editing, I did see the alleged "monster hand" in the review that just was not seen in the original. My verdict is still out but the monster hand may be the silver bullet.

Bear in mind that there are over 100 shape-shifts in the video. It is a full uncut piece of video, live, with no cutaways, and the subject is in veiw at all times. Furthermore, there is only a single source of light, natural sunlight, and a 360 degree panoramic view of the area. If you are able to reproduce that, and explain how it was done, the money is yours. Multiple film experts ahve been unable to do so, but we welcome your analysis.

I'm not interested in the money to be honest. I think that seeing the anomalies in the footage as evidence for Lizard people is very tenuous at best. Video encoding techniques are wide and varied, so much so that thousands of different types of anomalous effects can be seen in thousand of different videos. What you're proposing is not science. It's the "God of Gaps" hypothesis. You're saying, 'you can't prove is not a lizard people, therefore it is.' Sorry that just doesn't wash.

Whatever effect is taking place here has REAL potential in the film industry. Come on..that's just creepy. And while you may not be interested in the money, I'm sure some starving director out there is interested in the 25k.
This is a neat film, full of nifty camera distortions, or creepy indy CGI..or..the big one. It's real. What it is? Who knows.. But if that's real, as in freaky, otherworldly real, it's a complex situation... Paradigm shift anyone??

Maybe, but unlikely. It's just a really low-res video with various compression anomalies. Most people don't understand video compression techniques, like block motion compensation, which uses reference frames and interpolates pixels blocks to get information about the subsequent frames.

I agree a lot of these so called investigators don't really do their homework. It's funny though that they try to prove anomalies as the real deal... I used to be in a ghost hunting group and we were hated because we always came up with a logical answer to strange things... Like "ORBS" ever get an orb with a pro flash and camerea... I haven't hmmm I wonder why : )

I think that's admirable work. Most people just want to accept certain phenomenon as true without really investigating. What most don't seem to realise is that by boiling away the mundane answerable anomalies, what you may be left with is the truth. It may be that the truth is something they don't want to hear which might go to explaining why 'believers' rarely investigate too hard to debunk themselves.

As much as I'm not a believer in ghosts, I really enjoy watching that Ghost Hunters (TAPS) show. I don't think their methods are scientific, as is often claimed, but they begin their investigation by trying to debunk as much as they can, rather than assuming the anomalies are paranormal, then proceeding to find evidence to support that conclusion. Which is the method of many ghost hunters.

In low-quality camera devices, like mobile phone cams, the compression is usually very high, which causes all sorts of anomalies in videos of objects moving at speed. You might get a frame made up of blocks from several other frames, creating weird and distorted artefacts.

Yeah and you just proved his point genius. His video lasts...how long? He's only showing you a very short example. If he wanted to make a 5or 10 minute video he could come up with many more artefacts and "morphs."
