This line always like freeks me out. Joaquin Phoenix is amazing as commodus. He is totally grazy, evil, perverted in that film. Its so believable that it scares me. This is maybe the best acting I have seen, why didnt he get the oscar?
He played this character amazingly. Commodus was a complex character, powerful, strong but also fragile, vulnurable, confused, weak and maybe verging on the edges of insanity. Quaqin managed to capture that character perfectly. I always imagine this is what Nero's character in may have been a little like in reality.
I love this scene, I think most people that do have some kinda bad guy inside them, Or if youve seen "Breaking Bad" they say just accept who you are. Then later he's asked, who am i?... Im the "Bad guy".
