I hope Double H makes it to the sequel, I would love to have sequences where you have 2 or more companions working alongside jade with different special abilities. It could make for some interesting puzzle or battle sequences. that and Double H's phrase line never gets old.

Though this game is amazing, the boss design was horrible. He'd end up just corpse camping you, every time you got up he knocked you down. You had to stock up on A BOX OF K-BUPS WHICH COMPELTELY RESTORE YOUR ENERGY! and hope for the best.
The point is that when Jade fights he DomZ priest, the boss doesn't have hit points. It's an action sequence in which you always have to respond in time by attacking the boss in the direction he's coming from (or, when he's above you, dodge and attack); if you miss once, he'll hit you and you have to redo the sequence from the start.

just played the ps3 remake cuz i never played the original. the game was damn good im sure if i played in back in 03 it wouldve been one of those games that made my childhood like Jak and Daxter. Also, the part where Jade (or Shauni) starts to lose control is harder than it looks, the controls go into freaken reverse!

@TronPachioftheDynamo just the atmosphere, I played this on the gamecube years ago it was one of the greatest games on the gamecube (lol most gc games sucked) but it's a very memorable game ... graphics where ok for at the time and the worlds atmosphere and looks are beautiful ..and the story was actually pretty good ..

@dodgesxt : no, but its promotion and marketing was so terrible that the commercial success it deserved never came. It's still considered one of the best Ubisoft games of all time.

PSN version has updated textures, so even with resolution cranked up the PSN version will look better. 10 bucks is a good price too for one of the best games of the Gamecube era ^_^

@djklink20009 I beat this game today with only 4 hearts it took me many tries you just have to be consistant and be on your toes and when he does that thing where he makes the screen blurry flip your contoller upside down it's easier to fight him that way
It's possible, if you die you always get 4 hearts, and that should be enough.
All you need to do is "learn" his pattern, and when your blurry the last moment. When he is over your head (the part that is hard) you have to time his attack so when he attacks press the dodge button and move your stick around, then hit him, and do the rest of the pattern, and he will be dead.
Thing is, you have to "make" it without getting hit, because if you do, his pattern thing just goes over again
Yeah, that boss was a fuck to finish, at least the last moment is a motherfucker! Until you realise your supposed to dodge when he is over your head, hehe, and not just "run around", which works sometimes tho, but it just takes so much time, damn hardest boss ever, probably, haha!

I really remember this title back from 2003, but I never could get my hands on a copy! Recently I got a used copy for the Cube and I sat up late last night doing this fight!:) Hands up, this game is a hidden gem, well worth digging up even seven years after its release. Love the characters, the music, the feel and the style! I cant wait to see what happens to Jade & co next!
um you know......you wouldnt need so many k bups if you just took the PDAs or whatever those things are that give you more life away from Double H and Peyj. I didnt need a single k bup i had so many hearts.
I remember putting the controller upside down for this battle because all the controls were inverted. Left was right . the X button was the triangle button ect.
Ahh.. good times! i completed this game, it was pretty cool, even the part before the last part where u needed to save the pig, so beautifull! but at the boss i had a few problems, but when i knew what i had to do it went all right :D. Freaking awsome game, you know? :P

I hated the Alpha Sections soldiers, Or to be more precise. sneaking past them most of the time. They're mainly annoying when you have to fight them.
Though I loved sneaking through their HQ near the end of the game. Especially the rooftop chase.

Shiiiiit I forgot this game even exists! I have played it so long ago ;o 2003-2004 maybe... The whole story was something... different than most of games... It was so much fun playing it, collecting the photos, buying better cameras... (thats all I remember really xd)

I wonder...its rather strange that I never even knew this game existed. Not to mention the graphics are fantastic. But you know...its like Retro Video Game Challenge (for the ds) It really didn't have great marketing nor ANY commercials for the games, so they really didn't sell. Well im glad Ill get to try the second game :d too bad for retro video game challenge though...

I really remember this title back from 2003, but I never could get my hands on a copy! Recently I got a used copy for the Cube and I sat up late last night doing this fight!:) Hands up, this game is a hidden gem, well worth digging up even seven years after its release. Love the characters, the music, the feel and the style! I cant wait to see what happens to Jade & co next!

um you know......you wouldnt need so many k bups if you just took the PDAs or whatever those things are that give you more life away from Double H and Peyj. I didnt need a single k bup i had so many hearts.

It was so dark... So origional...So atmospheric...It had such likable characters... the gameplay was smooth and fun. and still it's underrated.

I remember putting the controller upside down for this battle because all the controls were inverted. Left was right . the X button was the triangle button ect.

Ahh.. good times! i completed this game, it was pretty cool, even the part before the last part where u needed to save the pig, so beautifull! but at the boss i had a few problems, but when i knew what i had to do it went all right :D. Freaking awsome game, you know? :P
