Everyone, if you're thinking about playing this, and own a DS, you should totally get the DS port! Although it adds 0.5sec load time between screens, it feels absolutely great to play this at night while lying in bed haha

Wonderful insight, I'm faving this video.

Knytt Stories is still very influential for me, regarding the atmospheres it is capable to deliver. Sound design is extremely minimalist, but those few elements actually helped in setting an entire universe of feelings, making the experience unique and refreshing. The game is free, quick, light, and deep. These should be the principles of modern game-making communities, which I strongly support.

this games outstands in every aspect, i love the fact that is relaxing, not like the games im used to play.

i was searching for some video to show a nice gamplay and found that the creator of overgrowth liked it too :D

keep making this design tour videos and i wish you the best on the overgrowth project

Wow, I actually forgot it was Wolfire that introduced me to this game, I've played all of Nifflas' games now, and Knytt Stories is still my favourite.

Good video however Knytt Story creates two processes, the one you saw (Knytt Stories.exe) seems to be some kind of launcher for stdrt.exe (which uses a pretty standard amount of memory for a game)

he mentions he can't really care about the objectives too much because the gameworld is fictional, I think what he actually means is that the world simply resets and there are no long term consequences. Because all movies and books are fictional, unless documentaries

to play levels that don't come with the game that you've downloaded you have to click the install level button and then drag the level you want installed over the game's screen and bam your level will install(coming straight from a beta tester's mouth).

on depends ont he level you download, weather juni kills someone or not, i know a level i downloaded in which she killed a monster at the end of the level

Knytt stories is brilliant. I think I've got the basics of the Level editor and I'm working on strange levels. One of which tries to be atmospheric while also having about 5 or 6 colours total not including power ups. (Background, ground, water, alternate ground/character and a bunch of special effects.)

I've not gotten the skills to make an open-ended level yet, most of my levels are entirely linear.

Where you mention the low system requirements, it's also worth mentioning that you can run the whole thing off a USB drive running off a 1.1 port :).
