  • Rad racer is DA BOMB

  • Don't forget the CX4 chip capcom used. That was a cool thing to see in somewhat "3D"

  • these men r noobs , thousands on a 3dtv ? loads of money on glasses ? needing a blu ray player ? thats all bullshit ,i got loads of games and movies in HD that runs in 3d via my PC to my 3dtv that costed me £380 for 42 inches and the glasses only cost like £2 a pair

  • Falsion can set 2D to 3D just pressing the select button.

  • Do you want Nintendo 3DS Console? Entor: goo.gl\oUcPQ

  • What was in the rest of that email that PhilBond was writing?

  • Is 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Video Game Adventure' the Third Worst Game Ever Made?? The second place surely is for 'Halo' (at any release, version, etc) and NUMBER ONE is for: GTA (same as Halo). Stupid and crappy games, really (and Flash games don't count 'cause aren't videogames). Greetings from Mexico. Sorry my bad english

  • @VoyeurRex you little COD fags are complete trolls who talk smack about good games

  • Solstice is another isoMETRIC game! (not isomorphic)

  • It's been 6 months! Is part 2 nearly ready??

  • Is this actually a real device made that long ago?!?!?!?!?

  • @PirateTravisJohnson1 Yup! Stay tuned in about a week or so when we review the one that Sega released the same year!

  • Video was fucking hilarious and informative. Totally subscribed and now surfing your uploads.

  • @Tsukae Thanks! We're putting the finishing touches on Part 2 now. Look for it this Wednesday!

  • awww, that kid is the cutest thing ever.

  • Irony: Nintendo is thinking about having 3D on the WiiU.

  • Is there going to be a second part to this video?

  • @jesusjuyce Yup! We are working on it rather tirelessly (between podcasts).

  • I want moar!!!

  • @Metalik4ever Ask and you shall receive. Stay tuned we are nearly done with the next one.

  • @Vinnk O_o. You talked about SEGA...They also have 3D Glasses for Sega Master System. It's name is SegaScope 3D.

  • 2:40 How does Vinnk know about American NES games if he lives in Japan?

  • @therealhardrock Because he's an American who lived in America until 2005. ;)

  • @SeanOrange Then why did he act so surprised when when he heard "Genesis?"

  • @therealhardrock Hmm... poor writing? Hahaha

We were trying to highlight how Japanese companies liked to rename their consoles for North American release during this era. We could have done something better/different.

  • Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters?!

  • 10:02

    StinkoMan!!!!!!!

  • Course they dont cover anymore there pretendo fans. After that last video! He was just like all the other gaming sites PRETENDO fans.

  • 8000 viewer!!

  • @DjWuzHear Nice! And now we're almost up to 10,000! Thanks everyone for making this the most popular video of Season 2!

  • 8 bit Georgge carlin FTW!

  • i farted.

  • Whose the kid?

  • Because of this video, I bought 3D World Runner and Rad Racer as soon as I saw them at the local flea market. Dug up my old red/blue 3D glasses and... turns out 3D doesn't work for me. =(

  • @Billy2600 Don't give up just yet. Try turning your glasses upside-down so that the red and blue are on different eyes than before. I noticed that the red/blue effect is actually backwards on these games compared to most things (like YouTube) that use the glasses.

Also, make sure you're using an old CRT TV; the effect doesn't work very well on HDTVs, flatscreens, etc.

  • @Billy2600 I'm sure all those Pirates trying to Bootleg 3DS games are having the same problem.

    *Eye Patched Pirate*

Captain: Ar, now how does this Third-Dee work again, Ar?

1st Mate: My Captain, you have to pull the lever away from you!

Captain: Ar, now it's like I had one to many a tankard of rum.

Crew Hand: Captain we have to get these ashore, and to some Walmarts (Pokemon Diamond GB Color).

Captain: Ar it can't be helped Poke-EY-Moan Indy-Go will have to go as is.

    ...

    Kid: ooh an eypatch!

  • I feel so sorry for Phil. I personally liked the Virtual Boy, even though it didn't have too many games. Poor guy.

    "Is this Canadian money?!"

  • Part 2 is taking too long! Gah!

  • @mistertitanic Sorry! That pesky real life again. I was out of the country (it was supposed to be Japan with a Vinnk surprise, but given recent events I had to reschedule), conventions and Easter coming up. We ARE working on it, though!

  • @SeanOrange Bah! It's fine! I'm just givin' you crap :)

  • Whatever you say I love your famicom dojo please make another but this time with your wii

  • I have the nintendo 3DS. It's a waste of money but fun( the 3D hurts your eyes and you might develop eplipsey, sezier and blindness

  • @JASPEN5964Lila11 I actually tried one for the first time this week. It's actually a pretty good effect! I didn't realize there were several points along the Z axis where you could still see the effect, whether it's up close or farther away. But tilting the screen too much to the side takes you right out of it.

So it's not perfect, but it's the only widespread implementation that doesn't require glasses for anyone to use -- BUT it's still a single-user device.

  • @JASPEN5964Lila11 It is a stupid system. I like it because of the new joy pad that they added with the D-Pad, but I do not like the system because of the graphics improvements. I much rather like the pixelated, blocky graphics that the original DS had.

  • I wonder if you'll ever talk about the Satellaview, that was a weird way of playing games. I remember seeing an article in the Nintendo Power's epic center called "Zelda from Space?" Only being able to play games during a live broadcast meant that you were required to wrap your life around video games even more than Animal Crossing.

  • @therealhardrock Hmmm, yes, I wonder... ;)

  • What's been going on with Vinnk since the Japan earthquake?

  • @therealhardrock He's fine. They weren't affected at all.

  • I literally orgasmed when I saw Falsion.

I wish I had the money to get a Japanese system and the 3D set.

WHY WAS THIS NEVER RELEASED IN AMERICA.

  • Rad Racer's "secret" feature wasn't secret, the 3D was advertised on the box.

  • @therealhardrock Perhaps, but how many of us had the box?

  • @SeanOrange Anyone who actually bought the game back in the day when it was new, boxed, and on a shelf. Collectors are so used to buying used copies without the box or manual that they tend to forget what it was like to buy new boxed copies. I saw the game box in Hastings (a rental place) when I was a kid.

  • @therealhardrock Or anyone who played it at a friend's house, or rented it, or DID get it second-hand. When we do this stuff, we can't assume that everyone paid attention to every little detail of a game. Heck, that's why we do this show, to amass those details in a surprising perspective, or put into a new light details we all thought we understood.

  • @SeanOrange Speaking of things missing when buying loose cartridges, do you know about the game "Star Tropics" and its Immersive letter? I had the number "747" on it which you need to complete the game, and is a real problem for people who only have loose cartridges of it.

  • @therealhardrock Hmm, interesting! For instance, I was playing the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Infocom game on my iPhone, and didn't have access to any of the footnotes. That didn't stop me from playing the game, but I do know some other titles that would require access to the manual as a theft-deterrent. Not too great for collectors, but I doubt they were worried about how things would be 20 years from then when the game was no longer being sold, and the technology outdated.

  • when does part 2 cor out?

  • would the earthquake in japan halt the release of the 3ds?

  • @MisoCrazyCup it didn't :)

  • @MisoCrazyCup It might have been possible, but it looks like the other worldwide releases happened as planned. The only delayed releases were for specific game titles (on all platforms), but that was due to content (similar disasters, etc), not supply chain problems.

  • wow I wanna see this video and learn about the famicom 3d system, but the humor in this is just awful, I can't stand it.

  • @dedpxl That's too bad that you can't watch the video. We do our best to make it both informative and interesting. It's a shame that our style doesn't work for you. But everyone has different tastes.

  • @dedpxl Congratulations, you're the only one! ;)

  • So, when someone gets Falcon Punched, he drops Canadian money?

  • @CapitaineK7 Falcon Pawnched with a Power Glove. VERY important detail. ;)

  • @SeanOrange And a Masters of the Universe bedsheet!

Damn it, I wish I had the ¼ of you swag Sean. :D

  • Awww... Kids grow up so fast.

  • Why do I get the feeling Sindra's going to appear in part two?

  • @Tubewings It had better not be a sinking feeling! :O

She won't; SMS is before her "time" as it were.

  • @SeanOrange Whew!

No offense, but she really creeped me out last time she was on your show.

  • @Tubewings Well, no offense back, but how could she not take that as an offense? :P

She has a proper HD video camera now, so it's all good. No more still photos, promise!

  • @SeanOrange hello, I liked your video. You're awesome!!! *Thumbs up*

  • @SeanOrange How can you use a Power Glove with a Famicom expansion port It doesn't look the plug wouldn't fit and do realize you guy make jokes too but is that for real. Also why not videos on Super Famicom and more on the PC Engine without the AVGN Nerd Parody. The NEC 3 PC Engine, DUO, and the import only PC-FX there's a lot to talk about mainly since not many know about the PC-FX system.

  • @nintendobard The NES Power Glove won't work, but a company called Pax made one for the Famicom. (The one I used in the video was for the NES, but it's largely identical.)

What, you don't like the Angry PC Engine Nerd? Awww...

There is certainly much more NEC to cover, but I think we'll only talk about the CD system for the rest of Season 2 -- the PC-FX is technically 32-bit.

  • Nice to see Phil Bond is still around after he made his Totaka's Song series (watch?v=tBO8EZSNH3A) because he doesnt make videos anymore since 2 years ago on his youtube channel (philbond)

  • @akumie Yup, he's still around, although he's had that channel for FIVE years now... ;)

  • @SeanOrange reminds me like 1 year ago i was warching his 3 part totaka song videos and he gave some email so I sent him a message with a new totakas song not in his 3 part

    He never answered LOL

  • @chaofreak8 Well, we didn't forget to cover it so much as didn't mention it. We didn't have one, and the only difference between it and the regular one is that it doesn't say "Nintendo" on it anywhere. Then again, neither does the Twin itself.

  • I just recently found out about the Original 3Ds (dont worry it'll catch on) on Ask Iwata. I'm amazed that flicker 3D is that old. i was amazed when we had a field trip to the Imax and they explained why we didn't need the old red and blue glasses. can't wait for the next video.

On ask iwata, Miyamoto san said that Yokoi san meant for the virtual boy to be a stand alone toy that wasn't meant to be related to the gameboy or portable. I wonder if it would sold better in that form.

  • Where'd you get that shirt man, and what does it say? Looks sweet.

  • So... what about 3D Orbs?

It is interesting to see how long Nintendo has been playing with 3D technology, (next you'll tell us about their 3D playing cards) but it's a shame that they still can't seem to get beyond that whole eye strain thing.

  • Hey, you guys should do an episode for the VRC7 sound chip used in the game Lagrange Point. But as I think of it now...it would be a very short episode. Seeing how that was the only game using it. But it'd still be pretty cool!

  • Well, I'll be darned, using a broken pair of sunglasses, I was able to see the 3D effect in Orb 3D!

  • Vink sounds increeeeeeedibly calm in this video! It's almost scary from his usual!

  • @Krosserdog LOL yeah. I was recording these segments at around 1:00am while my wife and daughter were sleeping so I had to be quite so as not to wake them. So which is better? High strung kinda near-shouting Vinnk, or mellow, clear talking but perhaps a bit boring Vinnk? Probably somewhere in the middle.

  • So what you are saying is the 2011 3DS will be a flop?

  • That's a good question, what about Orb 3D? Although, from my research it seems you still need glasses.

  • Nice episode. I finally see footage of all the 3D Famciom games. Looking forward to the next (Master System 3D?). Oh. Nice Scott Pilgrim reference at the end.

  • Famicom, and Virtual Boy live on!

  • Famicom Dojo forever. B(

  • Nice Scott Pilgrim reference!

  • Oh my god Vinnk, your kid is so cute.

  • Cospic epilon has the most epic graphis for nesfamicom (mode 7!)

  • 3D shutter glasses. Same technology used with 3D TVs today, only with some tweaks made to match the refresh rate and resolution of modern TVs. See, we can still make old technology work for us!

  • XD oh how i love the famicom's diologe :3

  • D'aw. Cute baby.

Wow. I thought I knew my Nintendo, but I've never heard of this.

  • lol classy glasses, Sean

  • I think it was hilarious that Vinnk tried to send his daughter over as a joke. Oh and nice Scott Pilgrim reference at the end.

  • 12:03 doesn't exist

  • finaly something new !

    Great episode guys!

  • Good episode! Can't wait for the Sega Master System 3D episode.

  • Which item is more difficult to find; the Virtual Boy, or the Famicom 3D accessories/accessory (with all parts included)?

  • thats your daughter Kevin? holy s**t, she got so big already

  • @Padoca85 I know. It's crazy how big she's getting. At the rate we are making these she will be old enough to host by the end of series 3.

  • K-O! - 11:30
