  • its actually pretty catchy!

  • fantastic!

  • This music is circa 1958...Spokes Mahiyane the King of the Pennywhistle and on my uncles farm myself and my friend Ithumeleng who worked with my uncles racehorses used to listen to and discuss this music and much else, Ithumeleng taught me to ride horses.

  • Try soulseek. I'll make what little I have available.

  • If anyone has more King Kwela/Spokes Mashiyane out there it would be wonderful if you could upload it. I have tried for years to get a rerelease but they appear to be unavailable - too sad! What happy inspiring and wonderful music!

  • Put more of Spokes MAshiyane pennywhistle musics.or provide address where we can buy

  • @111dudi You can buy this, and other tracks from the album, from iTunes and Amazon (in UK at least).

Spokes was probably one of the few kwela musicians to get royalties - his estate should benefit until the 2020s (year of death + 50yrs) so I really encourage you to buy these tracks if you like them.

  • @kwelaproject .thank you very mch.I will buy

  • great stuff

  • Nice music mate, thanks for sharing this with us. What date is this?

  • This is 1970's,at the latest.

  • I would say 1960 at the latest. My mother brought this record to London with her when we left SA that year.
