If you don't mind a refurbished one of these, you can get it from CompUSA for only 729.99. To be honest, I'm getting that and I've read the reviews. They state that the computer has nothing wrong with it and as if it was brand new. I advised to do what I did and get the cheaper one.

No, they are all 3.5mm audio jacks, one input and two output. Your getting confused with composite cables which are red, yellow and white. The only video out on this lap is HDMI and VGA

well for me i carry it back and forth to school in my backpack so there has been some scratches, but that is because i didnt put it in a laptop backpack i just had it in a regular one so it rubs against my folder and books, but they are barely noticeable so the black gloss finish is really strong, if u are carrying it in a case i doubt that there will be any scratches but overall the glossy finish is really good with scratch resistant

The asus G50 is just the baby of the asus G71V! if u gonna buy an asus definatly get the G71V so fast!! got quad core extreme QX9300. 12mb cache, dedicated nvidia 9700M GT 512mb. can play crysis easily. I have no regrets buying it!

if your into gaming and stuff then i would deffinately go with one especially now best buy has a newer model of this laptop which has a 9800m GT card which can pretty much play a lot of games with high settings and also the specs are much better than that of the acer too

these two are pretty much the same except one is is all black and it has cool controls while one is black and orange yet have cool lights in the front... i would go with the Asus and not the Acer but thats just what i think

I see what youre saying now about the processor, ok, a fully modded g71 is better than a fully modded g50vt,but its too expensive to buy it from best buy and then upgrade it to the specs of a Xoticpc G50vt, why not buy the G71 upgraded at xoticpc(dot)com Also the reason the g71 is not a g50 replacement is because the g71 is a 17" screen series and the g50 will always be 15.4". Asus cant stop making 15" notebooks. They will release a g50vz or something in a few months with the quad core.

The best display available is 15.4" WSXGA at 1680x1050 pixels which is one the A! and A2. The X1 has 1366x768 I think. From what I've heard, the A1 and B1 displays are brilliant.

yea the g50v-a1 is way better then this thing because it has a 2.53 ghz cpu which can be overclocked all the way to 2.83ghz and also the a1 has a 400GB hard drive 7200 rpm in raid config which is a whole lot better then this laptop this one only has 200GB hard drive

if i had the money i would definately get the g50-a1 instead but for now ill just use this as a regular laptop and not do to much with it

Just a note; a few laptops have went out to Best Buy that make the processor shoot to 100% full and never drops down, if you get one of these, return to best buy quickly. also at best buy this computer wont work cuz the advertisement software that best buy uses on every computer for some reason locks this one up so you really cant test it out at the store
