  • I always thought she was beautiful as all hell. :o And her voice.. <3

  • To much DRUGS

  • She looks like 60 years old!! But she's still beautiful! ALWAYS JANIS!

  • appearance means absolutely nothing when you are "listening" to a performance like hers.......

Stop worrying about if she had on any makeup....geez..........leave that for the E! Channel generation.

  • I don't know why people are commenting on her looking bad...to me her rawness makes her hot as hell. There are some things make up can't do.

  • @Dani8132m You got it!! Thank you.

  • those 3 ppl listen to fuckin britney and jennifer lopez. fuck them all.

  • Music has no color, religion, race or creed. Janis is one of the greatest Rock/Blues singers of this century. Unfortunately, like many of the great ones she never lived long enough to give us more.

Just appreciate what she gave us and savor it.

    From a black man.

  • I recall finding Janis' music at age 13 in 1973 and a little paperback biography- I recall reading. Most vividly I remember many quotes from Jerry Garcia.. but mostly, how she found herself dependent upon Kris Kristofferson amongst others to find suitable songs to really showcase her talent, and the disappointment in her backing bands' inadequacies as musicians.

  • she's kept me in awe for years

  • She didn't need make up. She wore her soul on her face. God forbid she cover it up.

  • I've seen alot of her recorded performances, I like this one, I can tell she's sober and she looks more refreshed, in some of her other tv appearances she looks like she hadn't bathed in days, which was actually the case! She looks good here, I think had she lived in the 70s she would have changed with the styles and wore makeup and done her hair better.

  • @hfdk2011 I can see that you don't have idea what is a good voice and a good music.Go write stupid comments elsewhere.

  • For a white woman she was raw, blusey, soulful & interpreted the rock/blues no better than anyone else! What a treat she was to give us 3 years of recording of a standard to set as a real blues performer...even better than Mick Jagger & Amy Whithouse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i'm italian . i think janis joplen has been,in my oppinion the most rock star. even now there no one like her. great voice with difeerent exspression.sorry about my english!!

  • who gives a shit how she was looking like for fuck sake!!!!?? just listen to the music u moron.

  • gosh I was born in the time

  • Awosome Janis! You will live forever in my Heart.

  • Classic Janis. :)

  • I can clearly hear the sound of a Hammond organ...but there's no organ in this video?

  • She makes me smile out loud!! Thank You Janis...for sharing yourself with us!! Rest in Peace <3

  • i love her voice. incredible

  • AMAZING!

  • nina simones version is mint

  • Janis nailed this one--best version I've heard of this oft-covered song ever!

  • I'm gonna go get high right now.

  • Makes me happy <3

  • NOW YALL KNOW THAT HEFER CAN SANG.I MISS YOU MS.JANIS.

  • drugs suck

  • @bloodthirstysavage you suck

  • Nobody can touch Janis except maybe Aretha Franklin. My God what a voice. I think she would have won America Idol??????

  • Sweet Pearl...Too beautiful for this world..Miss you babe !

  • How can you not love this woman and her soul!

  • I love her. That is all.

  • Her dying was a shame, she was the greatest.I bet if she was alive she'd still be singing today. She put so much emotion in her songs.

  • great to love.

  • She did more with her short time than most of us will do with ours.

  • wow..she is amazing...just amazing.. wish there was more talent like her in the world today.

  • Bliming Bee Gees. They knew how to write a song...

  • Janis Joplin is absolutely amazing, best female singer ever. Yet I'm still mesmerized by the trumpeter on the left's incredible moustache!

  • il mito la mia piu bella voce grandissima

  • My father, a jazz pianist said on her death ... "Maybe she had said everything she needed to say!"

  • i would love to see any modern day singer singing with such conviction.

  • MORAISITO AMETISTA - the best...

  • This was when it was still about the music and not selling out to make big bucks. Janis paved her own way and thank goodness she did. She was beautiful inside and out. It was so sad to lose her so young.

  • @lvrbsky While I agree whole heartedly that Janis paved the way, one of the first female singers to get paid more money than her male bandmates, Janis absolutely 'sold out' in order to become famous. She dumped BBHC(except Sam) to move to these studio musicians at the advice of her new manager, Albert Grossman. She needed a more polished sound to appeal to the general masses & to make the 'big bucks'. She was driven, aggressive, & knew what she wanted in her career. RIP Pearl, we love you.

  • I believe she was true to herself...true to her natural self...she doesn't need makeup and dress up like a stereotypical wannabe model to prove that she could wail! I miss her, she was a jewel.

  • MAKEUP OR NO MAKEUP. JANIS IS THE FIRST AND TRUE NEW AGE WOMAN OF ROCK& ROLL THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE--ALL NATURAL!

  • @DOGGONEIT99 ok dont forget this was the times too from when i was a kid, young girls refused to wear makeup and new clothes as part of hippie movement and rebel against establishment..

  • Don't need flashing lights, Don't need make up, Don't need recording gimmicks. Pure talent!

  • Damn shes amazing! i love her.. my top favorite singer

  • i love you janis

  • what a performance...!!!...love it...

  • Usually watching a live show on video falls short to the experience of being there. Janis comes the closest to bringing the emotions of a live performance to this medium than anybody. A truly talented individual.

  • I know people might feel this is *sacriledge- but- i love them both-- and I think that Axl Rose and Janis share a little something special.

  • @MrEllenwork Kurt Cobain and Janis share more in common.

  • ufff me estremece la piel la voz de esta mujer me encanta.

  • Damn...Janis put some stank on that one... :) Love it !

  • i grew up in the hippie era. best music and best time of my life.

  • @MsMaebe You're incredibly lucky for experiencing that entire era.

  • @MsMaebe i envy you, magical times

  • When you talk about Janis´s death please use a respectfull tone

  • DelFreaky

your are totaly right today its only about the money they make and the gossip they create music today is nothing more than a big laugh its all fake.

    grtz

  • You just don't see performers put that much emotion into their songs anymore.

    She was amazing.

  • she is excellent !

  • wow she is REALLY hot and has a SMOKING body. i mean really. but she died before she became one of the ugly formerly hot singers (who are still amazing singers) like Grace Slick and Nancy Wilson

  • did she dieded

  • i love 60´s!!!

  • Sorry ! The 70`s !!!!!!!!!!!

  • your're right... the drugs & the booze did make her look a lot older than she was, but so did the fact that she wasn't wearing a drop of makeup when performing under those hot lights. you would be amazed what a difference it makes.

  • @gizmokeeper she kept it real. she didnt look like a drag queen. make-up is nasty.

  • @willcolor4food oh she was beautiful without... she HAD SOUL! lol, didnt mean to imply she wasn't amazing

donc, respect Janis. One of the Best woman singer

  • @gizmokeeper JANIS NEEDS NO MAKE UP, BECAUSE SHE'S NOT A MODERN STARLETT TRYING TO MAKE UP WITH COSTUMES WHAT THEY LACK IN TALENT. SHE WAS PURE TALENT FOR SELL... ANYONE CAN LOOK PREETY IN MAKE UP. NO EVERYONE HAS TALENT...

  • @bluenitepoet AGREED. my comment was in response to someone else's. i was defending her.

  • @gizmokeeper Eh, who cares what she looks like. I like what my ears hear.

  • Just passion and emotion echos throughout resonates i feel her

  • she looks so old becouse of all the drugs thay how she died to :(

  • She sings that song with such amazing and beautiful authority. Love you, Janis!

  • she look much older than what she actually was

  • i wish i could've been a 60's flower child :/

  • I agree with the ideology they lived by but boy--I don't think I could have endured the hardship that they and the rest of society suffered during that era.

I grew up -very safely- in 1980s suburbia. But I love the sentiment which they express through their music--Joplin, Jefferson Airplane and Simon & Garfunkel, to name but a few.

  • Beautiful.

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • =)

    a queen.

  • MMmmmmm i love me some Janis Joplin!! she amazes me!!

  • SOUL!

  • Great!!!

  • One of my favorite performances of hers. Thank you very much for posting, Peace.

  • wonderful!
