Yep, we call it the "Royal Marine" sword because it's used by a member of our group that wears a RM uniform; it wouldn't have been very suitable for combat aboard a man-of-war. It was purchased from a retailer that advertised it as a Confederate or Union sword, so US trooper indeed. Thank you for your comments!
eBay is a fantastic source of good-quality swords. You can even find decent, museum-quality swords for a good price. Swords of any calibre, naturally, tend to be expensive. I know that Indian and Pakistan manufactured swords tend to be a bit more affordable. A quick cruise around the web, and of course, eBay, can get you going quite easily!

This looks like another sword based on the US M1860 cavalry trooper's sword, and not likely to have been used by anyone in the Royal Navy.

the swords that they get in the marines and the navy are more like souvenirs.
they dont actually use them in combat but there cool as shit tho.
