We never had, and may never have her like again. Kanan Devi was a real Devi of music. Thanks to Youtube I AM HEARING HER SONGS AFTER DECADES . I am her fan since I, as a child heard her in 1942-3 on radio (film "jawab"). Over the next 70 years I may have listened to her , perhaps , not more than a dozen times. And now for the past 6 months I am proud owner of a computer (I call it nostalgium) and listen to the DEVI every day. My best regards to YOUTUBE and the friends that upload the songs.
Kanan's voice is remarkably sound and clear even hearing on a headphone. So clear and so much full of her breath. I wish there will be some science to revive a quality of a person from his/her breath recorded years ago, just as Jerasik Park revived the ancient predators.

This is just one of Kanan Devi's real good songs..It is just wonderful. Also, it has some of her speaking voice, which was simply asoundingly beautiful..and pleasure listening to..I love her style of singing.. NO INDIAN singer has ever earned the magic of Kanan Devi..
@dkapasi4 I agree with u totally. No female filmi singer till date (including Lata) can be attributed in quality to Kanan Devi's curves and sweetness in her songs. She remains the best all time filmi female singer. There is only one filmi singer who is even better than Kanan Devi and that is the male singer--the all time-greatest singer of light and light classical music-one and only one KL Saigal, who is silent spectator in this song's video.

Boral till today remains the sweetest and all time best music director of indian films.
R C Boral's back-ground music along-with the song and filling-in music was immensely raw and most beautiful. He groomed two all time greats--singer-K L saigal & Kanan Devi-right from their entry in films--a great contribution to film music and its popularity. The period-1932 -1946 when Boral PankajMullick K L saigal KananDevi were together till Saigal died in Jan.1947, was the best golden period of Indian film-music having pronounced effects on later generation of singers & music-directors.

@dkapasi4 Kanan devi did not die thirty years ago.I MET her 30 years ago on 4th sept 1980 to be exact! She passd away in july 1992. on the 17th if I am not mistaken.
And she still lives in my heart and on my computer hard drive. my million pranams to her and Rai Da.
