I like how everyone bitches on Anky's video when in reality Anky did a better job than Pessoa did. Not saying this wasn't a good ride for him all things considered, but come on people.
To IRaceBarrels, Rodrigo is a champion show jump rider doing reining for the first time. Personally, I think he did alright. I would more than willingly let him ride any horse of mine. As someone who has done both english and western riding, I am impressed with how well he did. Let's see you get on a warmblood and jump 5 foot jumps with ease the first time.
to al of you criticizing on rodrigo en anky. If you'd take the best western rider and you'd put him/her in an english sadle and let him/her ride a dressage kur or a jumping cours,THAT would suck! Big time. Seriously.
@Channin22 if you check out smart little rattle snake, his owner/trainer did a paux de duex with a dressage rider and they swap horses during the ride. Can't think of the riders names off hand but the horse's name will get you to the video!
well there's the difference between the comfort level of a dressage rider and a hunter/jumper on a reiner right there. the commentators crack me up! i just hope pessoa took it lightly. but hey, it's awesome to see a disciplined equestrian mix it up a little bit and compete. i wonder- was this the first time these Europeans rode these horses- in this show? i bet pessoa has TONS more fun jumping... i bet he'd like cutting/sorting/penning or reined cow horses better too. a little challenge.
@yukontanya they looked loose enough to me when they came close to the camera...but I know what you mean the reins usually are a lot longer. Did they say who's horse it is? When do we get to see the western pros jump a course of 5 ft. fences? lol Even some little jumps I know they can do.....but I bet there will be some mouth riping...lol j/k really not a smart ass I was just in a bad mood. Sorry I wouldn't have said anything if I thought he was really trying to hurt the horse.
I think its great that they are stepping out of their comfort zone and trying a new disciplines! We shouldn't mock them :( its all about the love of horses after all...
haha, I'd like to see a top reiner jump a 5ft course. He did great, considering!
