However, according to Google public data CA's unemployment rate is 13.2% and via the LA Times is 12.4% (Jan 2010). I know that's bad, as I've been an Oregon resident for some time, but saying that you have over 30% "underemployment" in California is misleading. What I can say, is that with the highest unemployment rate since the 40's "any" candidate would be hard pressed to keep their position in office.

It's not that she doesn't deserve respect. Whether or not you agree with her politics, but there is a certain attitude that reflects in somebody who feels a need to toot their own horn so to speak. It lessens a person's integrity when they feel a need to self-promote, whether they deserve it or not. The term "progressive" means gradual betterment. We should discontinue using this term toward liberals. Who is against gradual betterment? I'm not. But, I oppose liberal thought. They are "regressives"! That is the appropriate term.

Barbara Boxer must be voted out for the good of the people of California first and the Nation second. I will vote against her this year. The Dem's have ruined our economy. Time to balance out the gov here. 25% underemployment is rediculess! Companies are leaving. All manual labor jobs are going to illegal foreigners. Time for revolution!

@itisaduck How quickly people forget that the Dems are not the ones who ruined our economy, it was the Bush Admin and previous. Now you expect them to clean up over a decade of destruction in a couple years. Time to get educated, wake up, and smell reality.

@langsor, The economy was ruined by deregulation of banking policy pushed by businessmena and rubber stamped by both parties but California's policies are Democrat dominated. This ia socialist utopia and is ending as all socialism ends. We had major issues before Bush. Boxer is out, and especially now because of her Healthcare Vote. We have over 30% of underemplyment in California. Near as bad as Nevada which will vote Reid out in November.

I won't argue about the specifics on California policies, since I don't live in-state. However, according to Google public data CA's unemployment rate is 13.2% and via the LA Times is 12.4% (Jan 2010). I know that's bad, as I've been an Oregon resident for some time, but saying that you have over 30% "underemployment" in California is misleading. What I can say, is that with the highest unemployment rate since the 40's "any" candidate would be hard pressed to keep their position in office.

@langsor, In some counties we have 27% unemployment but 30% under employment in CA. I may be moving out. I do not want the taxes and restrictions that are coming under Democratic leadership. We will wait and see which state makes out best in the southwest after the law suits. Businesses are closing and people are leaving. At minimum we will establish residence elsewhere and just use coastal home here as a vacation house. Hoping to drop ki
