Arnel is the best of the best... He soo amazing he can do anything you want,any voice that's why anybody can take him any band.airsupply,scorpion and ect.
I've heard them with 4 of their 6 or so singers - best performer by far, was Robert Fleischman! NO singer for ANY band ever had as much energy. The nicest, most personable, by far, was Steve Augerie. Gregg Rolie had the coolest/ballsiest sounding voice - so classic. Steve Perry was certainly excellent, and I truly enjoyed the 2 transitional albums with Rolie and Perry sharing lead parts - harmonies were quite excellent then (thanks to vocal training at Blue Bear!) :D
i've seen some sp renditions in yt before and compared it w/ AP's...imho, i find sp's a bit lame, cheesy, boring and soft soumding...not @par w/ my rocking standards...AP has 24k pipes, energy, youth, vitality and carisma of an awesome rock star...and i prefer most his manly vox and moves as compared to sp's...imho!!!...AP's renditions are rockier, fresher, edgier, appealing and more relevant to todays sound and younger set of new fans...

@lilwolf59 Did you stop to consider that maybe the poor guy was utterly exhausted at that point and in no shape to deal with clamouring fans?. Toward the end of the tour he was ill, and if you attended a concert at that time, it's very possible that he wasn't up to meeting anyone. However, the general consensus is he's always been very gracious, very humble and willing to meet fans. He ceratinly did when he performed here in Toronto.

Thanks to Journey and special thanks to Neil Schon, the world is fortunate to have the opportunity to witness the arrival and career of Arnel Pineda. Not for being the lead singer, there are many that could do that and do a good job however, Arnel is the perfect example of humbleness, respect, loyalty, geniuses and demonstrates qualities most can only hope to develop before death. He is a true man and top three if not the top famous icon ever.

Journey4AP - I am wondering what is the status on the Half Time Superbowl show. This year's half time was a zzzz. Next year is Journey's 35th Anniversary - that would be really interesting.
The new album will be great - this time there will be no comparison. It will be the Journey of the new era. You know it is so tough for Arnel. I do not think anyone has gotten so much attention and flack for following in the shadow of the band's former frontmen just because Journey has been there.. Thank God he is not a clone, I'd be so pissed if he was. And performs with such intensity...I think he even surprises the band members themselves.

I've heard them with 4 of their 6 or so singers - best performer by far, was Robert Fleischman! NO singer for ANY band ever had as much energy. The nicest, most personable, by far, was Steve Augerie. Gregg Rolie had the coolest/ballsiest sounding voice - so classic. Steve Perry was certainly excellent, and I truly enjoyed the 2 transitional albums with Rolie and Perry sharing lead parts - harmonies were quite excellent then (thanks to vocal training at Blue Bear!) :D

i've seen some sp renditions in yt before and compared it w/ AP's...imho, i find sp's a bit lame, cheesy, boring and soft soumding...not @par w/ my rocking standards...AP has 24k pipes, energy, youth, vitality and carisma of an awesome rock star...and i prefer most his manly vox and moves as compared to sp's...imho!!!...AP's renditions are rockier, fresher, edgier, appealing and more relevant to todays sound and younger set of new fans...

@DPepicelli I mean I am a songwriter and a singer and singing is really really hard and having experience you can hear that Perry is so much more seasoned and his voice is thicker and more warm and rich sounding. Although I love Arnel too, he's no amateur either, he's amazing.

Arnel has really improved, you know he has the range to where it is really just easier for him to sing then it was Steve Perry, and Steve in his original creator, and is Journey, and Arnel is just immitating something that was already done for him. But he has improved the live energy of the songs that;s why they can draw a new crowd and probably do better today than ever.. I'm proud of Arnel now and wish him all success. I use to be die hard SP but life goes on...

@lilwolf59 Did you stop to consider that maybe the poor guy was utterly exhausted at that point and in no shape to deal with clamouring fans?. Toward the end of the tour he was ill, and if you attended a concert at that time, it's very possible that he wasn't up to meeting anyone. However, the general consensus is he's always been very gracious, very humble and willing to meet fans. He ceratinly did when he performed here in Toronto.

Thanks to Journey and special thanks to Neil Schon, the world is fortunate to have the opportunity to witness the arrival and career of Arnel Pineda. Not for being the lead singer, there are many that could do that and do a good job however, Arnel is the perfect example of humbleness, respect, loyalty, geniuses and demonstrates qualities most can only hope to develop before death. He is a true man and top three if not the top famous icon ever.

The new album will be great - this time there will be no comparison. It will be the Journey of the new era. You know it is so tough for Arnel. I do not think anyone has gotten so much attention and flack for following in the shadow of the band's former frontmen just because Journey has been there.. Thank God he is not a clone, I'd be so pissed if he was. And performs with such intensity...I think he even surprises the band members themselves.
