Many say that that is his greatest work, and I respect that, it and other tracks from him are all quality productions, however, I say Nova is just in a class of its own. That searching emotional melody and smooth flowing groove after the release is the sex!

Yeah! 2006 & 2007 (2006 in this case), were some great two years for Uplifting Trance. So many good releases back then. But they don't produce it like that anymore.

wow that really is impressive! I heard reason was pretty cool as an all-in-one solution but also heard it was hard to make good sounding music with it and that stuff produced with it always had a kind of "reason" quality to it that was easy to spot?! All your productions for as long as I can remember have sounded superb so I guess it shows what can be done with it when you use it to it's full potential. You must know the software inside out! Know of any other trance producers who use reason?

This particular flavour of trance is what kicked the genre off and is what it should all be about. There's not enough of it IMHO.

this flavour is not what kicked the genre off. This is "Epic, Uplifting" and it takes after the classic anthems of cream and whatever of the late 90s. Not saying it can compare to those classics, but it roots sort from there. Trance actually is more psychedelic and acid based. Look at the early 90s. it developed more melodically.

I said it's what kicked the genre off. It wasn't until the more melodic uplifting style of trance became more prominent that the genre began collecting a bigger following. I have been producing and dj'ing the trance scene for a while (I actually have 2 signed trance releases). What I meant was I am a bit bored of many of the latest hard dance and techno acts parading as trance. I find acts like Kandi & Nickson are re-injecting wonderful epic tunes back into the scene.
