What an awful thing to have happened to such a beautiful person and soul. I came out in year 7. The one thing that i have learned after coming out in a high school is that most of the people that hurt me verbally or physically were in fact gay themselves. Not being able to handle the fact that they themselves are gay or bi, drive to hurt other gay people out of jealous rage. There is no other reason for these outbursts of violence. Due to commonly accepting lesbians.
Grieve not dear woman! For I can asure you that you shall ultimately be reun ited with your son, .. . in HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its so sad that people have to judge based of who someone is, this is not right no matter what people saying no one should have to go through this. Matthew you are in our hearts forever, you will never be forgotten, rest in peace <3
That was intense and those final images with no accompanying music made me cry, I dont get emotional, except when it comes to stuff like this... I dont necessarily fear for my life, but knowing this could happen to me just for being who I am is really scary. I just love Ellen, shes such a role model as is Judy Shepard for everything she has done. RIP Matthew Shepard
I bet this was one of the rare days that Ellen did not return home from work in high spirits. I truly don't understand those people who have a problem with the gay community. I can only assume that their reaction is based on ignorance, but it still doesn't make a whole lot of sense in my mind.
@SummerSunshine1988 I fell exactly like you. I have 2 gays cousins and one of them is the best person I have ever met.I take this issue very personally because of him. This kid could have been a great professional and found love but know we would never know....:,(
wow! This is SO IMPORTANT! There's nothing more to add.
Just a few words:
Let's pray for a future where the law against "hate crime" will not have to be applicated ever again. And let's not forget: "Acceptance" can only be the beginning. Not having to use that word anymore should be the final goal. THANK YOU to everyone who supports gays. Awareness itself and just a few words where necessary can make such a difference.
Every crime needs to be treated as a hate crime.
