I remember that on 1996 (or 1997, don't remember that well) Christmas my best friend and I asked for those cabbage patch kids that came with a white dress (looked like a paper dress) and some crayons so that you could paint her face. We specifically asked for them too look like they could be our daughters...I got a blue eyed blonde whose hair was a bit lighter than mine but it was ok....my curly, brunette, tan skinned, brown eyed friend got a green eyed, fair skinned redhead lol she was SO mad..

I don't know any kid who DIDN'T have a Cabbage Patch doll, when I was growing up. When I was in Kindergarten in 1987, some girl brought her talking CPK doll to school for Show and Tell. My sister and I had a few, between the two of us. I've since lost mine, (my mom gave them to Goodwill, years ago) but my sister still has her "Pretty Crimp 'N' Curl" doll, in mint condition.

I love these dolls. I have five of them that I sleep with every night. LMAO. My oldest one I've had since I was 4 years old. (got her in Christmas of 1990) and I wouldn't part with her for anything. Her name is April Camille. (yeah, I remember her name!)

I love these commericals. I remember in 84 when my Dad used to sell toys he brought two of them home to give to our friends daughters. I just fell in love with them. He brought me one home Lewis Augustine which I still have and I have collected more since then. They are the best dolls in the world.

Man, I was born in 1981, and I must have at least 5 Cabbage Patch dolls up in my attic somewhere. I had quite a bit of them and are surprised to see how much they cost!! My parents weren't loaded, I guess I was quite spoiled in that respect. I had a preemie, maybe 2 or 3 girls, a boy, even had a Koosa one. Maybe even more? I know I have one that had styleable wire hair.

I had one CPK doll (I still have her, the ol' girl, and I'm 26 now) and we had a birthday for her when she turned 6 (I was about 7 or 8). Mum organised a party and we had all my friends come around with their CPK dolls too (still got the group photos) and I recall a few fake CPK were there. They were dodgy, but I can't talk. I went right thru my childhood without a Carebear, so Mum sewed an odd-shaped heart onto my own bear to keep me happy. It worked for about 5 minutes.

I remember back in the eighties when people where killing each other for these dolls. All the brats in my neighborhood had one. I was too poor to get one. My mom who is from another country sewd me a "home made" cabbage patch kid. NOT THE SAME THING. She sewed nipples on it. God only knows why. I was thrown out of more sleep overs than I could remember. Needless to say the yarn hair fell off the home made monstrosity.

Its true, me and my sister were poor and we wanted a Cabbage Patch so bad my mom sewed two dolls for us. And for some reason she thought it would be cruel if they went around nippleless. My first CPK was a reject. My mom's friend worked in a store and I suppose saved this one from the dumpster and gave it to my mom, who passed it off to me as a new Cabbage Patch Kid. I should have realized when it didn't come in a box. Her left foot was missing all of the stitching, giving it the appearance of a ball, essentially. I still loved her though... Jacobena Josepha.
