Stock vs stock sl 65's are faster. Both get the same 1/4 but the sl has a higher trap speed, this z06 seems worked on, if u tune both the sl is faster because it has turbos that can put out twice as much boost than in stock form which can be good for about 800hp

11.8 @ 121.6 is not > than 11.7 @ 123.7 and these figures come from the September 2010 Road and Track and are for the 2009 SL65 AMG and the 2008 Z06. The SL65 AMG black series runs 11.8 @ 126.1 which is in fact faster but costs another 100,000. As far as it has turbos and can be tuned, it's pretty damn cheap to add a paxton supercharger to the vette and get around 800hp. I would bet it could be done for less than the AMG tune. Regardless a big ass sedan that fast is impressive.

Pointless comparision. The Z06 is a pure sport car, the SL65 AMG is a sport car which should be luxury and comfortable as a big S class Mercedes. And the SL is way more reliable too. But it costs about 3 times as much as the Vette.

OK for all the people claiming that the Mercedes is less reliable, my mother has had a Mercedes E500 (and that is the top of the line e-class) for 7 years, we have not had to replace anything except for the tires. The car has 302 HP with about 340 lbs-ft of torque, but we can still drive it like a sports car even though it is a large sedan. No, we cannot drive it like a Corvette, but we can drive it like a low-end sports car such as a BMW z4

So what's everyone complaining about? The sl65 amg has 630bph and weighs 4600lbs. The vette is supercharged and easily puts down 650rwhp on the stock motor. That's almost 750bhp in a 3300lbs car. For the amg to be that close, I'd say it did well with all things considering.
