Loved your "holy balls" comment! Linda Perry is truly in a league of her own, in every way. She is an extremely talented song writer, but with out question she ROCKS! Amazing vocal ability. Check out "Superfly", if you haven't already. It's from her 4 non blondes days of the early 90's. I think you will find it quite funky .... in a good, rock on sorta way.
