@totoynani143 There are Engineer Brigades as well. The only time I have heard of a single platoon or squad being assigned to a larger unit are the Prime Power guys unless they are assigned in an OPORD in theater or during an EXEVAL.

A sapper basically specializes mainly in demolitions and breaching in the more advanced manner as well as carrying out more complex missions in smaller teams rather than missions directed as a larger group such as a company. Each Sapper must demonstrate leadership and individual skill in the absence of superiors to direct them.

And Rangers doesn't take a lot of math but is by far longer and more physically strainful while being tired. I'ma 11b going to 12b. So I have a taste of both worlds and I know sappers and rangers. You really can't say Sappers is more difficult. Unless you have both Tabs.

Sapper was short but i remember some didn't make it because of the Classes... All in all Sapper is was easier for me, but then again i had engineer classes in college... not to say the math was hard... the only hard part about it was there was a time limit to the math test...

You have B's that can be Mech/Light/Airborne/Air Assault; and theres alot of shit that a Enginner has to know besides patrolling, then theres the C's bridgebuilders and the construction and equipment operators in others. An Engineer NCO has to know everything an 11B does plus he has to know everthing from demo to bridging and you have to know how to spell.
These days any MOS can go to Sapper School; but you need to be up on your demo Calc's cause that fucks alot of people up. Marines attend too. It ain't no joke it's tuff; they try to stuff all the Specialized Enginneer Leadership that Lightfighters need plus all the TLP's and Patrolling phase of Ranger school in 30 long ass day's. How do you figure? A COMBAT Engineer's job description is "Infantryman with explosives." We very rarely build anything. Just because our MOS Title mas the word engineer in it doesn't mean we do the same thing as all the others.
@SpartanSapper26 This is usually mission dependent. Our squad built everything from bathrooms to jungle gyms (for Iraqi National Army) overseas, and had various demolition tasks such as destroying caches. Sometimes we walked with our grunts for days on end, sometimes we were broken into small teams to accompany snipers or artillery. I've built 14 bridges to date, some permanant and some temporary(MGB's). I also have been trained to operate cranes,dozers and dumps (which i do in civilian life).

@frenchsaber Rangers are special forces of infantry, sappers are special forces of Combat engineer, but Sapper training is way more difficult than Rangers

@XxPiMPiNPiNoYxX IDK about that, I've heard it depends. Sapper school is a lot of mathematics and being tired. For a short period of time. And Rangers doesn't take a lot of math but is by far longer and more physically strainful while being tired. I'ma 11b going to 12b. So I have a taste of both worlds and I know sappers and rangers. You really can't say Sappers is more difficult. Unless you have both Tabs.

@FighterPilotX I got the Sapper Tab and went to Ranger school... and I'd have to agree with you on Ranger vs Sapper... Didn't get the Ranger tab... Ranger was just tougher physically... Sapper was short but i remember some didn't make it because of the Classes... All in all Sapper is was easier for me, but then again i had engineer classes in college... not to say the math was hard... the only hard part about it was there was a time limit to the math test...

DS.Worst is a Dick, but if you do get stuck in C 35Th pray your in 2nd Platoon DS.Taylor is a cool ds, if i could tell you a good company it would be B35th ENG BTL DS Hillman,DS warberton,DS.Scags are cool guys thay will be though on you but thay are good men after about week 4(End of RED PHASE) they start easing up but again good luck with that and Do as told, Never say thank you to a DS..

And for all you guy's that think all Engineers (21 series)build schools and shit thats not so. You have B's that can be Mech/Light/Airborne/Air Assault; and theres alot of shit that a Enginner has to know besides patrolling, then theres the C's bridgebuilders and the construction and equipment operators in others. An Engineer NCO has to know everything an 11B does plus he has to know everthing from demo to bridging and you have to know how to spell.

These days any MOS can go to Sapper School; but you need to be up on your demo Calc's cause that fucks alot of people up. Marines attend too. It ain't no joke it's tuff; they try to stuff all the Specialized Enginneer Leadership that Lightfighters need plus all the TLP's and Patrolling phase of Ranger school in 30 long ass day's. It's expected of all NCO's in ABN/Light units to graduate; it's just like Jumpmaster in an ABN unit;

How do you figure? A COMBAT Engineer's job description is "Infantryman with explosives." We very rarely build anything. Just because our MOS Title mas the word engineer in it doesn't mean we do the same thing as all the others.

Our squad built everything from bathrooms to jungle gyms (for Iraqi National Army) overseas, and had various demolition tasks such as destroying caches. Sometimes we walked with our grunts for days on end, sometimes we were broken into small teams to accompany snipers or artillery. I've built 14 bridges to date, some permanant and some temporary(MGB's). I also have been trained to operate cranes,dozers and dumps (which i do in civilian life).
