yea, at low speeds AWD compounds the problem of understeer
i have a WRX and when you step on the gas on low-grip surfaces, the rear wheels push the car straight forwards while the front spins and fails to steer the car : (
left foot braking should help a little in WRX... dunno about Quattro because its diffs (Torsen T1 and T2) are transfering most of the torque to wheels which have most friction, so thinking logically left foot braking will result as decreasing the speed and increasing the boost. Only after releasing the brake the car should (but not always must) be thrown by the torque and pendulum effect to where the wheels are turned.
do you mean trail braking with the left foot? cuase i try that but you have to have a bit of speed for it to be effective... at low speed the weight doesent shift enough and it just understeers and when you step on the brakes it just worsens the problem in mud and snow.
nope... trail braking is only braking to the absolute apex (without any throttle) and simultaneously after apex You start increasing the throttle. The so called left foot braking is braking while stepping on the throttle, so that You can change the car balance(this feature requires some speed though), torque split(when the front wheels are braking harder the rear ones will be given more torque), increase the boost (if You have a turbo/super-charger).
gran turismo 4, ps2, my audi s4 quattro for me, is easier to drive than my 96 skyline, more light in rear end.. more easy to throw it around. only slower by a smalllll amount, not as much power, only in that tune
Only 5 cylinder can have a history like this

Fuck the music. Why music? WHY? Seriously.
I rather hear the music roar from the 5cylinder engines and the poppin from the exhausts.

All of this used at the right moment and with the right amount should give some oversteer in 4x4 cars.
Using this technique in FWD cars gives oversteer and mostly 4wheel drift.
Using this in RWD cars gives understeer useful when braking and reducing gears causes rear wheels to lock.

i think it's because the driver tried to turn too fast and too much, so that he done it faster than the car could really react
