I went to the 1993 Canadian f1 saturday practice and qualifying with my father, I was 6 years old. To get to our granstand we had to pass by this spot before the chicane. The 1st session was already begun so when we arrive there we stayed a while at this exact spot to see f1 for the first time and I was amazed. This video was shot at the very same moment and place where I saw an f1 for the 1st time. I remember it was the black Sauber of Wendingler (with the yellow helmet), maybe at 1:30 :)
I just wish the small camcorders like this one I used in 1993 had some sort of picture stability. Yes this is my favorite F1 era with the V12's. Also a nice mix of 10's and 8's.
I'm amazed at the quality of this video. Most highlight videos from these years are all blurry and yet a home video is almost as clear as it can get (except for HD of course). And such beautiful cars and wonderful noises, these were the good days. Now we don't have race cars anymore, just four-wheeled computers that make a deafening noise, enough to make your ears bleed.
