I hate slaughter, but if anybody knew that shutting down the slaughter houses in America they are now going to Mexico and Canada and their methonds of "killing" is a million time worse then ours. The use a knife while the horse is alive to severe the spinal cord. Don't you think that is worse?
I hope that goes through, but another bad thing is what are we going to do with the unwanted horses? A lot of shelters can't take anymore horses in because they already have to many
The only way to stop excessive breeding is to take away the financial incentive that slaughter provides and then to back rigid enforcement of existing cruelty laws. We cannot wish our way out of abuse and neglect any more than we can slaughter our way out of it.
