Only "special position of Malays" (to safeguard backward Malay then), appears in Article 153, which is "Reservation (quotas) of services, permits, etc, for Malays". I do not know if the host is following AlJazeera's standard interview policies when he, on several accounts, interrupted the other speakers, but I personally find that it is extremely rude and unprofessional. He sounded more like a ruthless lawyer in court if anything. Read the Malaysia Constitution for answer to " Malay "special rights or privileges", They are no where to be found ! Only "special position of Malays" (to safeguard backward Malay then), appears in Article 153, which is "Reservation (quotas) of services, permits, etc, for Malays". The fault is our politicians twisting, misinterpreting and abusing Article 153 for their own gains and Article 153 will not be complete without reading Article 89 (equality for all races).

One must understand the roots of the problem, why so many people risk their life to be detained under ISA?? We all know if a public gathering involving more than 5 persons requires permit. To simplify things, the gov't didn't allow the rally for apparemt reasons: The rally was strongly backed by the opposition...clearly it shows the rally was political motivated. It's not like the police didn't issued permits to opposition gathering before...duh! Only for this particular case tht the permit wasn't being issued coz it's a political attack ma!

C'mon guys...We all know Bersih Rally was illegal due to no permit. The gov't didn't issue the permit out of fear that the violent rally at Batu Buruk might happen again. When there was too much crowds (whom we all know hate the gov't) were out in public venues, how could the police control each of them. How could the police ensure that no one was carrying weapons? How could we ensure tht some irresponsible individuals might not take advantage from the rally?

Exercising the RIGHT of expression must be reasonable, and it seems to me destroying public and private property, injuring people and just scaring the crap out of the locals isn't a justifiable (let alone a reasonable) exercise of that right. In fact isnt this a well worn BN technique? I won't comment on the protestors' intelligence or educational background as it's clearly irrelevant to this discussion. First of all, if the saturdays rally is for the future generations of our country, what guarantee do i have that the system that could be lead by those leaders in the rally would promise and provide Malaysians a fair and just system? Will they teach my children to execute rallys in front of the King's Palace? What is the reason that they lost in the past election? Is it unfair all these while? Then aren't we ashamed to have 50 years independant with goverments cheating each other?

Personally, i totally believe that 10th Nov rally is for personal intentions only...not for future generations. If a leader is really promising great future, he will definately win. Does all those leaders in the rally promise the citizens of Malaysia a brighter future or they just want power and occusing the election to be unfair? Then why those in schools who failed PMR or SPM or STPM are not having rallies and protest saying the markings is unfair?

I wonder, if the general peaceful facade of the country has blinded you from the news of contradictory nature in the Internet and rare alternative sources of media elsewhere in Malaysia.
Also, knowing the education system in Malaysia, it is not surprising that those below 18 do not consciously (want to) create a rally, peaceful or not.

The host is not rude. He was merely moderating the show, while simultaneously challenging presented arguments to access its validity and logic.
It's very much like an informal debate, as is the case in foreign new channels where there is greater freedom of expression, speech and ideas.

I do not know if the host is following AlJazeera's standard interview policies when he, on several accounts, interrupted the other speakers, but I personally find that it is extremely rude and unprofessional. He sounded more like a ruthless lawyer in court if anything. I can see that he is vulturing the two Malaysian guests from different angles of attack to portray them in a bad light, trying a new one when one failed.

I find the points raised by all parties(host excluded) to be pretty valid in one way or another, and the conclusion to this issue can only be a vague one at best. My advice to viewers out there? Take everything with a pinch of salt, do more research on the matter yourself before making some half-educated and stereotypical guess(like the many rash commentors of this video clip).
