In Washington, DC., a police officer who was attempting to clear an area of Occupy Protestors who were camping illegally was struck in the face with a brick hurled by one of the protestors.
In New York, NY, a man was arrested for sexually assaulting an 18-year old female protestor. There have been multiple arrests for assaulting police officers and resisting arrest in NYC as well.
In Oakland, CA, a man was shot and killed just outside of the Occupy encampment, two hours after a large fight broke out between two groups of protestors.

If we didn't stand up to Gov. then African Americans would still be segregated, women couldn't vote and the Gov. could create any law for any reason because we wouldn't be standing against them. If we didn't stand up to Gov. then African Americans would still be segregated, women couldn't vote and the Gov. could create any law for any reason because we wouldn't be standing against them. That is illegal in all cases and should not be allowed. The "message" is dilluted by the actions of the protestors. The police have the obligation to open these spaces to the public. The OWS actions were illegal and hence they were arrested.
