@xxnissansilviaxx a similar engine build alone set my bud back close to twenty grand a few years back. it 4 wheel dynod around 640hp and about 660tq. i had a sip of coffee left in the bottom of a sealed cup. the 1-2 shift was so violent the coffee blew out the sip hole and showerd both of us.

Peak boost comes at 4000rpm (responding to 400NM), and runs out of breath at pre-set 6000 for safety and setup reliability reasons, you can rev further, but you will come short on torque caused by boost creep...

In this video it was stock axles/driveshaft. But now I have a DSS aluminum driveshaft and DSS level 2 rear axle bars. Never broke the stock axles though!

Get all the upgraded motor/tranny/diff mounts (every single one) and you shouldn't have any problems with wheelhop... wheelhop is what breaks axles.

My new heads have Ferrea Competition Plus valves/valvetrain. I think Supertech is OK as long as you use Inconel exhaust valves.

Man I hear you, that's alot of money invested though and it sounds like it was built with good parts. What do you think was the weak link or caused a cam to break.

I have no idea what broke the cam - it snapped in half right between the cyl #2 intake valves. Cosworth warrantied all four cams with no questions asked.

My exhaust valves were not made of Inconel - they were Supertech black nitrided SS valves. I think that's why it dropped a valve - even Supertech now says that those valves are not meant for use in Turbo motors, yet they still sell them.

the motor in this video broke a cosworth cam in half after 6k miles, then blew a HG 2k miles later. Then it was completely rebuilt and dropped a valve 5k miles later and was 100% destroyed. A new engine is being built right now.

I chalk it up to bad luck (cam breaking), build/tune issues (HG failure), and wrong parts selection (dropped valve). But overall if you push an EJ257 to 5-600whp you need to expect these things.

The gt35r is a top-end turbo, hits full boost around 4500 with a 2.5L and makes crazy power from 5-7k+ rpms.

If you don't have a strong motor it will be pretty easy to blow your motor to pieces, but it's a great turbo.
