I'm sorry about your loss. About three weeks ago I had to put down my 6 year old tabby just 6 days from her 7th birthday. I didn't know she had FIP until I saw the symptoms. When I saw her symptoms worsened one afternoon I had to do the only thing. I stayed with my cat until they took her into the back room. I deeply miss her to this day.

@lreid9395 I'm so sorry about your kitty. It is so painful. FIP is a horrible disease and at this time there is no defense for our cats. I hope some day researchers find a way to protect them or cure FIP. Now the only thing we can do is fund them and help each other cope. :-)

We lost two of our precious kitties to FIP and had never even heard of it before. They were both 6 years old and died 6 months apart. They were both indoor cats.

We were very worried about our remaining 4, but they didn't get it, thankfully.

@mazdaman1982 I am so sorry about Angel! It is so very sad to lose a cat to FIP. Yes there is no cure yet. I try very hard to raise money for the Winn Foundation to do research.

Rascal will most likely be fine--FIP is not contagious. The common corona virus only mutates in certain cats. If you are worried, join the FIPCatSupport Yahoo group-the link is in the info section of this vid.

ya its so hard we had her for 6 or 7 months and she was a little over one year old i will be posting a vid of her in an hour or so , she was part Flame point and short hair , the place seems so empty with out her hear i cant even explane how sad i feel right now its just so much , she had a very big tummy the vet told me it was all fluid , you would think with our technology we would have a cure

the vet and she gave me options , first was i could pay 1200 bucks for testing and i was gona do that but she told me if its FIP theres no cure , she had so much fluid in her belly she was not comfy at all she use to sleep with us every night she stoped cause she felt week boy this is such a painful thing to go thrue i had her put down cause to me that was the best thing to do i miss her so so much

i haven't been this sad in a very long time, i just lost my cat named Angel she was 1 year and a few months old , this is saturday march 13th , i noticed Angel not being her self she had so much life in her and then around a month ago i noticed her gaining a stumic and geting bigger and she was geting weeker and weeker then yesterday i decided to take her to the Vet so this morning i get the case and i take her, now its around 1:30pm and i get a phone call Angel is not well :( so i went to see

I am so sorry that you lost Mariah and King to this horrible disease :( My Himalayan kitty, Bella, had fip as well and I had to put her to sleep on 2/29/08 :( It happens so quickly and it's sad that there's still no cure...losing Bella was definitley one of the toughest things I've gone through...RIP to all kitties who have passed on because of this horrible disease..

Our kitty was just diagnosed with FIP, I love him so much =( and I don't want him to die, I don't know what we're going to do without him...he is so special...I don't think I can let him go in only a couple of weeks.

I am currently attempting what I can with our youngest cat who is being a trooper battling FIP. She's our 2nd kitten we have had in the past year to have FIP. The first we lost in early October 08. Cleopatra who we are nursing now, we adopted from our Vet in late Nov after they nursed her back to health after someone burned her paw pads, nose, and whiskers on Halloween. It is heartbreaking it really is. Time heals all wounds and I hope everything will go well for you and Ace.

I am soo sorry to hear of your loss! Your video made me cry, i have lost 2 cats also,but they were tested and i was told it was not FIP, But the symptoms were the same as the wet form and they both died,i am still grieving over my little JinJin,i made a video of her and put it on here also. i'm sorry about your losses. My little boy died today he was only 1 year old. In that short time, he has had a broken tail, Inflammatory bowel disease, and has now died from an unknown cause. The post mortem will tell why he died, but until then all the vets were left scratching their heads. He was so young everybody out there whos cat lives a few years should be happy they got the chance to live that long.

My 9 year old bengal girl has the wet form. Unless the vet gives us some miracle news tomorrow, she'll most likely have to be put down within 24 hours.

She's white and slender and so pretty, I don't know what I'm gonna do, I can't bare to lose her.

WE all weep with you. But you have a beauty there! What beautiful cats Bengals are! I have a rescue cat named Mufasa, a Bengal of such dignity and grace. He is 13 years old now, I would be a mess if anything happened to him. But...he would want me to adopt another rescue. What lovely babies!!! God Bless you. This is a good commentry on FIP. Have pulled a puppy through once but he was sooo ill.
