There going to release some more car packs for GT5 like the top gear reasonly priced cars and the porche etc but atm there patching the jaggy shadows and the poor trees in some tracks....
@RCF4RIVAL NFS made its name as a FUN arcade street racing game, but that ended with Pro Street, and people expected it to turn back to its roots, but they then they made a racing simulator (the graphics look better than Forza 3 but not GT5, espically in the tracks) and their idea was great, its just not what people wanted from them, they wanted another Free Roam street racing game that is fun, and GT5 made its name as a realistic simulator that car fans will fall in love with
I played in a 3d tv gran turismo 5, now go home and see the game not only hear it, this is for the configuacion 3d, at home I have tv2 (conventional). I reset the display settings to see the game? Forgive my English is not very good. thanks
My review in a nutshell. Menu system = terrible. Load times even when installed = slow. Gameplay once in a race = great. Realism = great. Car options = large selection but too many duplicate cars and too many crap cars that I have no interest in (e.g. Yaris). Graphics = Very good but not really any better than prologue and there is some screen tear. Overall = very good and with some small improvements would be Fantastic!
I got so DISGUSTED with this game that I actually put it back in its case and mailed it to a friend as a gift.
Auto save cannot be disabled, which means that you will waste MILLIONS on cars you don't like.
NO MATTER which car you choose, your soft tires will wear out around 3 laps, and your opponents' tires, for some magical reason, will not, causing them to catch up and beat you.
If you opt for hard or medium tires your car will handle like shit, and they'll still beat you. This game blows.
I have both PS3 and 360. Simply, this game is hugely disapointing. It's as simple as that. Six years. Damage physics is a joke. Only 200 cars you'd want to drive (and even cockpit shadows on some of those are horrid). Quantity over quality. AI is dire. On-line play is pure bumper cars. User interface looks way out of date. PGR4 is six years old: photo-realistic graphics and weather effects is nothing new. This game is a huge let down and I still prefer the 360 as a games machine.

@gravitygrabber I'm level 40, after many many many hours of playing, mainly with the GT wheel, I can attest that damage gradually becomes available, yeah damage at level 40 is pretty cool, doors fall off and stuff, but what's the point? if you drive how you're supposed to you don't need damage, it's a driving simulator, not a crashing simulator, also the new seasonal events are AWESOME!!!

GT1 rocked the games industry, GT2 even more, GT3 did the same thing on the next console...GT4 just an update...GT5 they wanted to do the same thing but they released a game at 20% finished, ok it looks great, but there are a LOT of problems with their new engine shadows, rain around cars, smoke around cars, sounds of the cars suck...ever heard a real M5 pulling up?

I have both a PS3 and Xbox 360 I do have both forza 3 and gt5. Im really dissapointed about how half the cars on gt 5 are updated cars from the old game.. I honestly think forza 3 is better . Im not going to argue with you im just giving my personal opinion

Got GT5 as I didn't have proof of age for Assassin's Creed (I'm 15). It's amazing so far. All the cars look and handle great, and there is a LOT to do. I've done around 10 races, got around 15-20 cars as gifts, done 2 or 3 special races, and I've only finished TWO PERCENT of the game.
You say there are cars missing. They probably did this by accident. Next thing you know, for £15 you can download another 50 cars which fill most of those gaps, they know you will pay for it because you have been wanting to see those cars on there

The AI sucks...this game is too easy.....I play it with everything off and aids off, simulation mode in the steering wheel...computer opponents drive like my grandma and I think the handling is unrealistic, it is too forgiving...
The only car I "might" spin if I drive it like an idiot is the F1 or the Zonda R.

@ThunderThighs23814 It is more sim then an arcade racing game. You can't buy just any car, you have to have the proper level. So if you want to save up and buy a rally car or indy car you have to be at least level 16 or something. So many people are upset with this game, and after playing it I think most of them are smoking crack or something. It is without a doubt the best racing game I have ever played, EVER.

@ZeerXX i agree that it is an amazing racing game but not a complete sim yet. when damage actually effects how you drive then it will be an amazing console sim. i grew up playing all the GT games from 1 through 4 and i loved them all. there all i really ever even played on ps2, all other games just sucked next to them lol. but i also remember railing walls at 180 mph with out ever even touching the brakes, cause damage/crashing had no effect on my driving.
@TheAmericanUhate also think about the online play.... ok, say your leading a race and about 20 minutes in and some jackass comes raming you off the track and into the wall to pass you then drives away clean with zero damage from it... does that sound fun now? even if it is new to GT to have damage, after 5 years they could have put it in a little better then just the looks and only after level 40. at least have motor damage to stop the idiots lol.

IMO it was a great idea of PD to put in almost all of the gt4 cars as standards because its nice to be able to race as those cars again. I'm guessing if they only tried to make everything premium then a lot of the obscure cars from gt4 would have been forgotten or left out. and when they are thrown into the GT5 graphics engine they look just as great as premiums during a race.
Its a mystery why all the cars cant be driven using the cockpit view, that's just weird. Why even put the view in if there only for selected cars? Maybe it wasn't enough time? Tisk Tisk.....

What did you have to do to unlock the Bugatti. So far Ive only got the cars that started in the dealerships. I haven't been able to unlock a car that I like, that is missing from the dealerships

I just got GT5 ~3 weeks ago. It's great but I'm astounded by a few things:
Changing wheels on "standard" cars. I know everyone brings this up but it's simply unthinkable.
Random name for b-spec driver. Why bother having the option to name then?
There are still TONS of cars that they could/should have in the game that they don't.
No engine swaps (ex: RB26DETT S14, LS1 C3, etc), bore/stroke increases (haven't seen it yet anyway), brake upgrades.
Tinted windows, exhaust tip options, etc.

Quite dissappointed with the car list.. 1000+ cars.. But bunch of scrap cars..!! GT4 is way much better.. Honest opinion on the game.. Sauber Mercedes?? Nissan r89C?? Nissan R92cp??? Toyota Minolta??? Jaguar Race Car??? Where r u??? The graphics n controls are great!!! Pagani just 1 car?? Zonda r??? N thats it??? Where's Pagani Clinque??? I have both a PS3 and Xbox 360 I do have both forza 3 and gt5. Im really dissapointed about how half the cars on gt 5 are updated cars from the old game.. I honestly think forza 3 is better . Im not going to argue with you im just giving my personal opinion

Got GT5 as I didn't have proof of age for Assassin's Creed (I'm 15). It's amazing so far. All the cars look and handle great, and there is a LOT to do. I've done around 10 races, got around 15-20 cars as gifts, done 2 or 3 special races, and I've only finished TWO PERCENT of the game.

You say there are cars missing. They probably did this by accident. Next thing you know, for £15 you can download another 50 cars which fill most of those gaps, they know you will pay for it because you have been wanting to see those cars on there

The AI sucks...this game is too easy.....I play it with everything off and aids off, simulation mode in the steering wheel...computer opponents drive like my grandma and I think the handling is unrealistic, it is too forgiving...
The only car I "might" spin if I drive it like an idiot is the F1 or the Zonda R.
R-Factor, hadling wise..is MUCH Better..

@ThunderThighs23814 It is more sim then an arcade racing game. You can't buy just any car, you have to have the proper level. So if you want to save up and buy a rally car or indy car you have to be at least level 16 or something. So many people are upset with this game, and after playing it I think most of them are smoking crack or something. It is without a doubt the best racing game I have ever played, EVER.

@sweetlilchickie1985 Sim is suppose to mean that it is close to real life, well in real life, damage is a major factor in how you drive. in this game, damage is not a factor at all cause you can go full throttle into any corner and bounce off AI or the wall make the corner and keep going like nothing happened. can you tell me in any point of time at any race in the world that someone in real life would be able to do that? na, i didnt think so. in other words, this is arcade/game, not a sim.

Although i know what you are getting at,, but car damage is new to GT and the creator himself said their will be new downloads every week..month.. .to make this game better and better. Graphics, and as a drving simulator, it's way better than any racing game out there.

@ZeerXX i agree that it is an amazing racing game but not a complete sim yet. when damage actually effects how you drive then it will be an amazing console sim. i grew up playing all the GT games from 1 through 4 and i loved them all. there all i really ever even played on ps2, all other games just sucked next to them lol. but i also remember railing walls at 180 mph with out ever even touching the brakes, cause damage/crashing had no effect on my driving.

@TheAmericanUhate also think about the online play.... ok, say your leading a race and about 20 minutes in and some jackass comes raming you off the track and into the wall to pass you then drives away clean with zero damage from it... does that sound fun now? even if it is new to GT to have damage, after 5 years they could have put it in a little better then just the looks and only after level 40. at least have motor damage to stop the idiots lol.

IMO it was a great idea of PD to put in almost all of the gt4 cars as standards because its nice to be able to race as those cars again. I'm guessing if they only tried to make everything premium then a lot of the obscure cars from gt4 would have been forgotten or left out. and when they are thrown into the GT5 graphics engine they look just as great as premiums during a race.

I was excited that GT5 has cockpit views, but i did not know only some cars had cockpit views. Plus the third person camera in GT5 is kinda stiff. search for gameplay vids and compare the camera yourself...

GT3 only had around 200 altogether and that was an AMAZING game.

This game still looks amazing, but theres pretty much 250 cars in this game that are actually good, My only question is why put cockpitview on 250 of their cars but not all of them. i meen seriously, i dont want to drive cockpit view cars and then go back to driving 3rd person or watever view.
