I think Chomsky is most of all, an academic scholar. He won't jump on any bandwagon. I myself am not sure about 9/11, because I don't know who did it. Some of the 9-11 inside job seems very plausible, then again Chomsky's (and others) comments against that are very logical too. Don't be dogmatic about it. Truth is, we don't really know.

I don't agree. Chomsky's methods are scientific. I think unless there was admission from the administration or some kind of leak on paper he'll be skeptical to side with the notion that the U.S. administration was directly responsible for 9/11. I think most of us can smell the rat, but it takes more than that if you want to be 100% conclusive. That's my take on that...

Every book is meticously researched. Every speech gives evidence of his encyclopedic memory of events. He doesn't jump on conspiracy bandwagons, because there is a lot of paranoia and conflicting arguments/evidences. He has to defend his views against the top conservative academia. He doesn't have the luxury to just go "well, I have a hunch that.." He needs to have his thesis watertight or he'll be written off as just ANOTHER (not looking at anyone) dogmatic nutcase, on the left or right.
