  • "PI IS N EQUATION!" retard....

  • pi is an EQUATION???? O.O

  • The Loci method :D wooo psychology revision haha

  • SO FUN,THAT PEOPLE CANT UNDERSTAND. FUCK YOU ALL STUPID FUCKSSSS!!

  • @mcksvnssn1 >calls people stupid fucks

    >doesnt do any research to back up your own point

  • @TwoTekah Fuck OFF AGAIN TNXS!! STUPID IDIOT!

  • Well i can only memorise up to about 20 in 40 seconds.. not bad but its shit compared to Ben ;).

  • @UltraSoftwareReviews No you have a bad fucking memory.

You are the man with shortest memory. Look to the right of these clips

  • He should smoke weed and MDMA... I hear it's good for your memory :D!

  • @FuhQuePvP cant tell if trolling. Or stupid.

  • soemone should make a techno song with the song going on while he's repating all of that

  • 1:35 is the BIll Cosby "I just jizzed in my pants" face

  • The human brain can remember billion or maybe endless of number series.

In fact the brain remembers everything. Every single second in your life even if you think you dont remember so much, but everything is in there.

  • @mcksvnssn1 How?

  • @kikikikia Yes,it is so :). Yes,my answer is YES

  • @mcksvnssn1 Great

  • @mcksvnssn1 that isnt completely true, your brain does not remember everything by itself. Thats why we have a short term memory and a long term, usually your day to day monotonous life gets stuck in short term memory and forgotten.

  • @TwoTekah Yes bitch its true in my country. Im not joking.

  • @mcksvnssn1 lol, yet it isnt at all... try doing a little research :P if we remembered everything forever, we wouldnt have short term memory, the reason we have short term memory is so that we forget the unimportant, and remember the important.

Next time research some more plox.

  • @TwoTekah Yes live in your fantasies. Your retard you dont get it.. The brain remembers everything, but you are not aware of it.

  • @mcksvnssn1 LOL, please dear god please, take even a remedial psychology or neuroscience class. Or at least use common sense! if we remembered everything, we would not have short term memory........ also, You're* if you are going to call somebody stupid, do not make such simple mistakes. But back to the point, the FACT of the matter is, im pre-med, and Acing all my courses (including neurology and psychology) while you are going off what appears to be urban legends and wifes tales. Research it.

  • @TwoTekah YOU ARE NOT AWARE OF IT!!! GET IT RIGHT STUPID DUMB ASSHOLE,YOU ARE SO IRRITATING...

  • @mcksvnssn1 lol, honestly, RESEARCH. I have been throwing out FACTS left and right, while your defense has been "HERP TRUST ME GUIZE, IM RYGHT, MAI MUM TOLD ME"

  • @mcksvnssn1

Not true, that is why sometimes when we recall something, it is not exactly how you remembered it

  • @DuoElement Oh yes thats true bitch. In my country Sweden they are saying so

  • @mcksvnssn1 "In fact the brain remembers everything. Every single second in your life even if you think you dont remember so much, but everything is in there." What? That's nonsense. Prove it.

  • I would be amazed if someone could list a couple of cards without repeating.

  • Every time he replies, the woman looks confused on what he is trying to say.

  • "your brain must be full of it" LMAO

  • A.C and vegas dislike this...

  • hahahah 2:30 seconds in that blank look on his face as hes remembering all the cards...priceless, i can picture those cars being pictures of ex girlfriends and my blank look into the abyss thinking of all the years gone by and all the fuckups ahaahhaha ...dam :/

  • pi = 22/7 that is an equation whereas pi is a variable

  • how the hell man

    this is legit

  • amazing

  • ill tell him to recall every word and each giggle that has elapsed. (But that question comes at the end of the interwiew) guess what HE CANT RECALL!!!!! HAHAAHAHAHA AHAHHAH,

  • saying pi is an equation is like saying the number 1 is an equation.

  • PI is an equation. It's 22/7 in decimal.

  • @CaptainGreen2008 Nah, man. 22/7 is an approximation of Pi. 22/7 is 3.14, where as Pi in reality is 3.1415926535... and into infinity (so far as we know). My point being, once again, that Pi is not a stand-alone equation.

  • Comment removed

  • @mondiablue Yes, why do you ask?

  • Comment removed

  • Goddammit. Pi is not an equation, Pi is a mathematical constant.

Also, "Pi" (1998) is a movie directed by Darren Aronofsky.

    He was wrong either way.

  • @MrEdLoop Why can't Pi be considered an equation?

  • @mondiablue Because it's not a goddamned equation. An equation is when you have two or more figures interacting in any way. Pi is a number, one figure- an irrational number, but still a number. Also, it cannot be expressed as a fraction, so one can't even call an alternate definition of Pi an equation. Unless Pi interacts with something else, one can't say that an equation is present.

  • his technique described, when the pretty lady asked him, is nothing new. the ancient greeks did the same thing when memorizing speeches: they would allocate each idea of the speech with a piece of furniture in their homes, thus because they were familiar with the lay out of their house, they were familiar with the layout of their speech. this technique is called loci, and every one is capable of it, the sad thing is that they do not teach it at schools as they did in roman and greek times.

  • I've beaten this guy last year in Arithmetics Worlds cup. He is nice and kind mate.

  • "pi, the mathematical equation"

    someone shoot that man

  • @fishistheice loool i thought that too, what an idiot

  • @fishistheice

I scrolled down to post this and saw that justice had been administered

  • @fishistheice Technically, pi is a mathematical equation, because it is one number (circumference) divided by another (diameter), and instead of being a finite sum, it is a continuous process.

  • @fishistheice Definitely not a man, should be in the kitchen !

  • How the hell do you cut out the most interesting part of the entire clip(the 30 seconds he spends memorizing them)

  • this guy needs to go to the casino and play some blackjack

  • Kim peek wins

  • 1:34 LOL! "Jack, 'X!'"

  • i remember long number or passwords in triplets. eg. A34 BB1 342 BSE.

I have to call them out fast, I'm often unable to recall them at slow speed.

So I came to the conclusion that I memorize the musical sound of the triplet and then decode them.

In this way I discovered that I still remember my 40 year old home phone number that I haven't used since.

  • I wish I had a memory like this guy... I don't smoke or drink and can't even remember 7 cards in a deck... lol. I will try some more methods on youtube and maybe then that would help me with this college work:)

  • this guy would be so sick at simon

  • I've only memorized pi to 54 digits...

  • Dam Japanese beat us again....

Why can't they let us be better at something for once! LOL!

  • @Soothfish hahaha... the nature of competition is to never stop trying to learn better ways to win :P... or at least not lose :P

  • he should smoke some weed n forget shit

  • "pi........... the mathematical equation"

    lolwut

  • @pwade909

    lol

  • Such an amazing mind! ^_^

What's amazing is that I personally know him! He's a sweet and kind man, fun to talk to, and very friendly... he tutored me on my college Algebra classes. Thanks, Ben!

  • 'took the wind out of my sails something chronic'

    I lolled at this point

  • I'd like to see Ben do this test after smoking a fat doobie.

  • lovely fast !!! good concentration, he took lots of practice

  • casinos need to suck a fart and let people win money if your smart enough.

  • i cant remember if i have a good memory

  • @anglianchannel hah :P xx

  • Pi, the mathematical equation???? What the heck?

  • can he continue after he was interupted?

  • i wouldn't like to play memory with this guy

  • what a retard

too much test straight from the tap

  • This guy can actually do 7 decks. It never said that one was the maximum he had managed to memorise, only that he could memorise one in less than thirty seconds.

  • @SRagy Not only he can, everybody can. You just have to learn some basic technique, the rest is a matter of training.

  • @SRagy Actually, he memorized 27 decks of cards in an hour. And 50,000 digits of pie in an attempt to break the world record, but failed. This man is a mental monster. If you like this, I suggest that you read Moonwalking with Einstein by Joshua Foer. It has so much in depth knowledge.

  • @Skillzofalot I actually just bought that book,I am f*cking STOKED !! :)

  • @Skillzofalot Tis an incerdible book (manufactured synesthesia).

  • You spelled Stu Ungar's name wrong.

  • Perfect memory at the expense of your hair, speech cognition, a girly voice, and a swelling oversized head.....

    having a Blackberry...

    .... PRICELESS

  • @meowflu

Shallow, no wonder society is on the decline, because of insipid people like you.

  • @meowflu Blackberry prices: pricecheck.co.za/search/?search=blackberry

  • if u don't use this talent in Vegas. what s the point having it.

  • If you have this talent and people know about it, your not allowed to play at the cassinos in vegas lol, like derren brown, hes been band from playing at cassinos lol, poor man

  • @m032959 I would like to know how casino lawyers convinced the judge to ban someboy that is not cheating- just really smart. Thats like banning Michael Phelps from the olympics because he wins too many gold medals!

  • @speaker00001 Casinos can ban anybody they want for any reason because they are private clubs.

  • @m032959 classic rumor, but no, Mister Brown is not banned from casinos

  • Anyone try the technique this guy uses??

The associating things with items in a familar place seems easy enough, but than wouldn't you have to memorize the items in order first to be able to do this?

And in that case..wouldn't you have to associate those "reference" items to other items?? and so on and so on???

  • Yes, you make the items in a kind of mental 'story' so one leads to the other. However one thing most people don't realize is that remembering images is incredibly easy... provided you visualize them properly. That's why people can always remember faces but often forget names.

  • "after that it's just silly" hahahahahahh

  • he sounded funny because he is not used to human communication - he just looks at cards and lives with his grandma

  • "Your brain is full of it!"

  • wtf is a prince?

  • Five, prince.

  • I can memorise a deck of cards, but not tha quickly and i know 1240 digits of Pi

  • How can I contact with those memory experts?

Hi everyone, I am a blackjack card counter, if you can do the speed cards in 2 minutes, let me bring you to the casinos , and win the money with your skill.

  • The man lives like a hobbit to achieve this. Pointless waste of time.

  • So what do you do instead then? Do you ever watch soap operas, reality tv shows, or rubbish tv in general? If so this is far more of a waste of time than improving your brain.

Share with us all what amazingly useful things you do in your life instead. Oh and Ben does work full time by the way (not memory stuff)

  • ok what do i do that is more 'amazingly useful' than spending all my time opening imaginary doors to funny rooms that exist only in my head....hmmm tuff one. How about work 2 jobs, hold a girlfriend down, decorate my flat and run about after kids all day. No offense but Ben even admitted that his obsession had cost him dearly....i mean we all seen the guys flat on TV and the money issues he was facing because of this. who u fooling stevie? noone? thats right....no one.

  • No it's you who are making a fool of yourself. If you had learned these techniques and applied to education you would not need to 'work 2 jobs' as you would one decent one. Ben makes mistakes by turning down TV offers because he doesn't want the exposure, if you look at DOminic O'Brien he has made big money out of memory.

Please don't comment on things you don't understand and try getting a decent job. You may even be able to pay someone to decorate your flat for you then ;)

  • I work two jobs because i choose to, not because i need the money, i decorate my own flat because im able bodied and not a retard . Infact your such a dick its unreal....Ben or Dominic O'Brien...well Ben sounds like a field mouse and is about as photogenic as a smacked out Amy Winehouse and Dominic didn't loose his virginity till he turned 30 so whats your point exactly?

  • Oh sorry Stevie i just realised your in your 40's so i doubt you'll be interested in what some smart arse 22 year old with a proper grip on reality has to say about middle aged men studying sequences for days on end...anyway good luck with your application of these techniques. I'm sure in a few years you'll be able to boast about how much more advanced your mental ability's are when compared to the rest of us troglodytes. Best get back to decorating my cave and spreading my cave girls legs!

  • 34 actually but I don't expect you to be able to read. And you have 2 jobs because you choose to LOL? Very likely. You are clearly a thicko with no qualifications who has to have two jobs. Clearly jealous of those with a brain. Yes memory skills can be done by ALMOST anyone. Sadly people of your ability are the exceptions. I'll leave you to your two jobs, one of which is probably shift work.

I'll keep my 95K a year job but get home by 7pm every night.

Take care, no more replies from me.

  • Yes clearly you hit the nail on the head, clearly. I work one job that's career orientated and the other is more of an outlet for social endeavors that just so happens to pay a decent wage. Lets not get into tit-for-tat here Stevie, im sorry to hear that you don't enjoy working. A man on 95k a year who thinks a qualification is an indication of mental ability is indeed a challenged individual. Now i just feel sorry for you.

  • How bout... getting money by interviews like this? owned son.

  • Although he may seem like a "born memory genius" this is, in fact, a learned behavior. Anyone can do it if they put their mind to it. :)

  • Not sure if anyone can. It;s like any top level sport or academic stuff, 99% effort 1% talent

  • Probably true x) We studied this in psychology, though. Maybe not at THAT level, but superior memory to an extent is certainly done 100% by the human brain, regardless of talent :D

  • But that is like watching 100m final at the Olympics and saying "anyone can do it". Anyone can improve and get their 100m time very very fast (age being only real barrier).

Anyone can improve memory but the results Ben is achieving now can NOT be achieved by the majority of people irrespective of how much they train.

  • I think it's kind of different than that. We all have the ability to have strong memories (the fact is, very few people take the time to "train" their memories...). I think that athletes in the olympics is slightly different... that does require a certain kind of training, and many of their bodies help them to reach that Olympic level, where not just anyone can do it. Just saying..

  • Disagree. As many of us have the potential to be athletes as have amazing memories. It's just when you have spent 15 years eating rubbish and doing no exercise, it seems a long way off and far more unattainable than "oh I'll learn a few memory systems". Trust me i have learnt memory systems and can perform well, in terms of a deck of cards in under 45 seconds, how Ben manages to do it half this time demonstrates a native ability at least over me.

  • the female newscaster was turned on by the memorizer guy :D LOL. hehe. Dude I LOVE british accents!! so quality. That guy's get great access to his mind. no eye-accessing cues...interesting.

  • Practice makes perfect. I could only memorize 5 cards, and amazingly, after a year of practice, I can now memories 31 cards, just as easily I could memorize 5!

  • did you know Ben very poor?

his Apartment is very dirty and crappy, he gave up acounting to pratice his memory, in return he became poor

  • Wrong on every level. Grow up and stop being jealous.

  • Are you talking to me about all this? Wow... just wow! Someone's getting a little too involved, uhhh lol. That's fine if you disagree, relax XD

  • I wasn't talking to you shiuza. You and I were having intelligent debate. I was talking to the commenter above, Karlsm10 who claimed Ben is poor (wrong), he gave up his job (wrong) , and he lives in dirty, flat (i dont know but i doubt it)

  • Whoops, sorry- LOL. e.e

And yea... what's with that guy, hating on Ben Pridmore.

  • Im not wrong sir, i saw a DOCUMENTARY in NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC about intelectually(spelled wrong lol) smart people and he was one of them, he gave up his career(in return made him poor) to focus and train his skill, and yes im jeloelous becuase this guy is smart, but please sir don't tell me that im wrong without knowing the real facts, wat a tart head

  • Images and Association~

    Story or route Method~

    sounds easy..?

but doing it within 30 secs haha.

an amazing feat. kudos to you.

  • Incredible...but very simple concept.

  • 0:54 is very sweet.

  • amazing lol

  • freak

  • I can memorize an entire deck of cards in 0 seconds. but not in the correct order.

  • tard

  • Zoomy you legend... you are such a role model to all of us memory competitors...your humility goes such a long way. I always love learning from you at each memory competition and you are as ligit as they come. Hats off to you...speaking of hats... ;o)Chat soon Daren Denholm, South Africa. Ps: Will we see you in Bahrain this year?

  • Pi, "the mathematical equation"...

  • Its not photographic memory that does the trick.. they learn to remember by creating paths through e.g. their own house and then visualize objects along the way that they associate with the things they have to remember. I'm reading a book about it and it really is something everyone is able to learn.

  • The Loci system

  • can you imagine this guy playing poker?...wow

  • he could count cards like in the movie 21..!!!!

  • playing poker? kinda useless cause the deck is reshuffled after every hand.

playing blackjack? now, that's a different story...

  • photographic memory??

  • Haha sorry I wasn't trying to sound arrogant, I was just in disbelief.

  • your point is arrogant

  • 03:37 - "Your brain must be full of it." Must be a compliment in London...

  • hahaha thats exactly what i thought when he said that

  • hahahahaha, damn, i better start giving compliment in america now.....u all just full of it!!! might be shit, but who knows

  • I wish they would show him memorizing the cards and how fast he goes

  • Pi to 50 000 places?

I can recite it to 100 places given 3 minutes and I am particulary nerdy

    ...Dude, get a PS2.

  • He's not the world champion, he lost to a German in the championship. He would have won had he not been a bit too arrogant and not tried to push his memory too much.

  • That is utter garbage. I know this guy he is anything but arrogant, the most shy, modest person you could ever meet. He lost because he had to 'go for it' to have a chance of winning in the last round.

Get your facts right you utter moron.

  • pi is not a mathematical equation, but a mathematical constant!

  • 5, prince...haha!

  • I've seen Ben do this trick in the flesh and it is truly awesome and very funny when he tries to do it drunk - he can still do it but is hilarious!

  • I beleive its called the Cartesian memory system that he uses. Derren Brown uses it also in his memory feats, especially with gambling in casinos.

  • Ben Pridmore is real,

    Derren Brown is a magician...

  • Yes but its the same stratefy used to memorize.

  • This is mostly true. But if you see Derren you should always know, that he does magic tricks too. For example the "20 minute memorisation" of a dictionary is a magic trick and not real.

  • excellent memory...

    i think its real

  • Well, Ben Pridmore- you rock.

  • "I think mobile phones are gradually replacing our brain as time goes on."

    --brilliant.
