  • I love this light it's not the brightest ( Surefire under rates their lumens) or cheapest. I bought mine at Cabelas for $50. It is bright enough for most lighting needs. It is light weight and durable. What it lacks in lumens it makes up for in run time. I have some streamlights, 4sevens, surefire, and Fenix they are all good for different uses. Surefires are also made in the USA. All in all I have nothing but good things to say about it.

  • Nice review. I got a new Surefire G2X and I simply love it. :)

  • what do you lube this light with?

  • @nigahiga001010 Look into NyoGel at Lighthound. Do not use Vaseline.

  • @nigahiga001010 Oh, sorry. I thought you were in the US. An electricaly conductive grease should be used. Other than that, I don't know. I've read Vaseline/petrolium jelly will harm the rubber o-ring.

  • @Seven7hSon im actually in the US. LOL. i made this account when i was there in teh summer

  • Yeah, the older G2L's had plastic bezels but there was problems with melting so all the new ones are aluminum.

  • Good review, just got my G2 LED in the mail today and it is light, strong and easy to use.

  • 80 lumes is not enough for defence. However 200 lumes surefire are great for defence. Its not only a tactic for short range, its also a long range tactic. A burgler would not know who was behind the light and if they were armed or not. Just shout loud and with authority, they should feel unsafe and run away.....

  • @SuperMangn surefire has historically underrated their lumens. If you go to candlepowerforums some folks their actually tested surefires with some lighting equipment and found that the actual out-the-front lumens was usually 40 or 50 lumens more than what surefire claims.

  • @O8SERVER Your right, I am a member of CPF and I am aware of the testing. I own a brand new 6P LED and new SureFire batteries but in my opinion its underpowered. I love the flashlight but the bulb needs updating big time.

  • @SuperMangn 200 lumens hmmm well to bad everyone dont drive a porsche ,live in a mansion and can afford to buy a nearly $500.00 surefire flashlight so we can have 200 lumens im happy with my $40.00 G2 incan.

  • @frenchfried100 LOL the batteries for the G2 will end up costing $500. If you have costs in mind then check out the Fenix TK11 R5, it can run on a single 18650 rechargable, is 285 lumens and lasts 2.7 hours. The build quality is good and only cost $100 or so...

  • @frenchfried100 Actually, not all SureFire lights are $500... The LX2 Lumamax is 200 lumens and runs $175-195. And SF just released their new line of G2X and 6PX lights and run < $100 and are 200 lumens. And the Fenix lights are awesome (I own several different ones) and run a variety of lumens/prices. The Fenix TK12 and TA21 are both well over 200 lumens and cost under $100.

  • Hi i just wanted to know if this product is USA made. Thanks. Great Review!

  • @Jim5525 Yes, Surefires are made in USA.

  • You got that right!

  • Good review! I got a G2 LED and a G2. They are both good and perfect for traveling. I use both for exploring the castles and caves here in Germany. Surefire is the best.
