I'd offer some feedback -- but I truly know nothing about any of this. I've always been a desktop guy (mainly because I've always been doing some form of media production and I needed desktop capabilities) and have very little experience with laptops.
@drewnetwork I made the switch to all-laptop about five years ago because I wanted the mobility, and didn't need a high-end processor. Now that I'm playing with this video stuff, maybe I should reconsider?
An "outside of the box" solution would be to pull the desk out a few inches from the wall, then place a 1X8 board (same length as the the width of desk) under your hutch.
So your hutch will be against the wall (like it is), with a 1X8 under it. With your desk pulled a few inches away from the wall you might be afforded the few inches you need to place that mammoth keyboard fully onto your desk.
Eh I always find laptop stands hit and miss, If I dont have my tower in my room hooked up I tend to have my laptop hooked in to my acer x223w and its adjustable and looks great, I also use a logitch mx 3200 keyboard mouse combo that is wireless and has a good range, better then all of them desktop stands I see, its just better to put the latop is "docked" mode and use an external display
@bigjake52 True, I could move the computer off the desk and use an external monitor with my keyboard and trackball. I'd have to get a monitor though, as I don't own one. Would you recommend the Acer?
@carlblemming I love my acer alot its a 23 inch lcd that provides vga and dvi-d, but look around I know dell sells monters with webcams bulit in and with usb hubs But I do use my acer and I love it alot, its 1650*1080 it was a great investment for me,
get a new desk...
