@crutchfieldtv what do you think of the LG SL9000,its 3:000:000:1 Contrast ration and LED Edge Backlit >_> but 120hz i guess..would the blur be noticable on the 47" model?
This probably due to the basic design of a DLP TV, with a projector throwing the image up onto the screen from behind the screen, it only makes sense for the center to be a little brighter.
Of course, that problem is much less noticeable on the higher end DLPs.
Most companies don't even make big projection screen TV's any more. I hope you find the one you are looking for, we can help if you need it.
yo can someone tell me if 80,000:1 contrast ratio is good?

monkey1o8,
I wish it were that simple. Here's an example:
Our most expensive Sony has a 2000:1 contrast ratio (50,000:1 dynamic).
Our most expensive Samsung has a 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Samsung doesn't provide a static CR spec.
So, is the Samsung's CR twice as good as Sony's? What kind of difference would we see if we had a static CR spec from both?
Long story short, 80,000:1 is probably good, but we don't know how they rated it to begin with.

@ShockerDirectX
I wasn't able to find any info on an LG SL9000. I did find an LG SL90 that will be available in November, according to LG's website.
Sorry i couldn't be of more help on this one.

I have 1 question
How come DLP TV's are bright in the center and loose brightness as you get to the edges

Hello TheDirect Fire,
This probably due to the basic design of a DLP TV, with a projector throwing the image up onto the screen from behind the screen, it only makes sense for the center to be a little brighter.
