This makes so little sense to me. Robocop was rated R. There's a scene where a guy has his balls shot off and another where someone is torn to pieces by gatling guns. If you let your kid see that movie, you're a terrible parent. Doubly so if you let them see one of the sequels, because they weren't even good.

@EponymousKid If you leave out the gore and the F-bombs, RoboCop is a great movie for kids. I saw it on TV I think when I was five. I'm now 23 and a faithful church-goer on his way to becoming a mechanical engineer (partly because of RoboCop). I seriously doubt it's a bad thing for kids to see this movie. At the very least it teaches them to love cops and hate bad guys.

@masterman3178 Actually, they didn't use tax dollars. If you have seen the first Robocop movie, they mention that services like Law enforcement become privatized. Omni Consumer Products took control of Detroit's police department. (Hence, the OCP logo on the cop cars.) When officer murphy was "killed," it was OCP who paid to turn him into Robocop.

I do agree with you about the hero's funeral though.

This was actually pretty good show back in the day. I remember an episode where Robocop and Lewis were ordered to protect the prince of some middle-eastern country who came to visit the city, while ED-209 was reprogrammed to assassinate him.

I also recall a reference to Cain in some episode. And Clarence Boddicker was still alive trying to kill Robocop.

Cartoons were awesome back in the day. I feel sorry for the kids who have to grow up with all the sucky shows of today.
