  • 1 dislike. Obviously can't play it himself.

  • There is something in the sounds of Ghitalla, Dokshzer, Andre, that you don't hear in even the best of today's crop of incredible virtuoso soloists. Damn what playing this is!!

  • In the early 1980's, I attended a Master Class held by Armando Ghitalla, at the Royal Conservatory of Music, University of Toronto. He was quite affable and a PERFECT trumpeter. He played several orchestral excerpts flawlessly and was a very positive mentor to various students who had the nerve to get up and play in front of the great master. At the end of the Master Class, he read for awhile and basically espoused his philosophy about professional trumpeting. I learned much. Lino Varano.

  • Armando Ghitalla was my teacher's teacher's teacher. Essentially the skills that I am learning are from Mr. Ghitalla. What a beautiful Concereto, I am enthralled to be playing the first movement :)

  • Man! If only he had done this at 25! Armando was a special player. He was my father's favorite trumpet player.
