I see Tyler Mane better as Lan. He just fits that cold, hardened warrior. Also, I think that Lanfear should be a relatively unknown model and Aran'Gar be the new Megan Fox (whoever takes her place as sexiest woman if/when this comes out)
some o.k choices but a few good changes I think would be antonio banderas(rahvin), joaquin pheonix(asmodean), rose rollins(semhirage),ioan gruffudd(ishamel) and i'd definitely have eva green as graendal.also as good a choice as catherine zeta jones for lanfear is I have always thought of monica bellucci for some reason.still a great choice though!
Christopher Walken as a Forsaken makes this video a win, all by itself. I always think about who could play characters in WOT, but for some reason, he never occurred to me. He's perfect for a role as one of the Forsaken!
hahahaah you'r entitled to your own visions, as I am mine.. the only one I felt fitting of yours, was Alan Rickman as Asmodean... the rest, okay, I can see, why you feel these actors should be represented ( but I dont feeel no evil from any of em)
well, as I have no rebound list of actors to show my own imagination, it seems ok.. but if I could show you whats in my head, you would know what I mean
What about Aran'gar, Osan'gar, Moridin and Lanfear after she's reborn? I can see a good many of these choices fitting but I feel as though they would need to be less well known actors and actresses.
I always pictured Ishmeal as being old. I don't remeber how he is described in the books but a guy like the person who played either Gandalf or Sauroman in LOTR would be good for that.
I thought the choices were great except for Kate Hudson as Graendal. The most voluptuous foresaken cannot be played by Kate Hudson and her washboard chest.
I definetly like many of the selections, but Ishamael, the betrayer of hope should be someone who is a tid bit more theological in real life, many of the actor's true characters shine better in film rolls. I see Sutherland as an okay pick, but I don't see him filling the role as it should be.
ok. christopher walken? allan rickman? no thank you. i think both actors are amazing, but them in that kind of role would be horrible, especially christopher walken. if only he had a little more cowbell. i do agree with wesley snipes. i think everyone does. as for halle berry? hell no as well. of course these characters are subjective, so im just giving my opinion. and of course to play any of the forsaken would mean to have some crazy cgi altering to their appearances, so that could go any way
decent cast, though when i think of Rahvin, i always pictured someone more along the lines of Alexander Siddig (my understanding is the books say he's dark, which yes could mean he's black but i'd say someone from the Middle East would also fit that description)
I think Holly Marie Combs would make a great Lanfear. She's played in fantasy anyway and of course this is just my opinion, but I think she is one gorgeous woman and I immediately pictured her when I even first read of Selene :drooling: If I was Rand I would find not being Selene/Lanfear's lover the ultimate test ever made by the Creator lol
I think a lot of these actors and actresses could play several roles, all fine choices and I especially agree with Wesley Snipes and Catherine Zeta-Jones
I really like your choices =) maybe Graendal and Moghedan (cant spell right when it comes to some names and my WoT books aren't close to me atm =( so yea..) should be switched? just a thought =D
Not sure about Halley Berry and Winona Ryder- not "dark" enough. Catherine Zeta Jones is gorgeous enough, and might be able to pull it off- maybe after Michael dies. Hell, who am I kidding- I'd watch her watch paint dry, she's so prime. Kate Hudson has the vibe for Graendal, but needs to add 25 lbs. Eliza Dushku, Jeremy Irons, and Keifer Sutherland are absolutely inspired choices. The rest are very good. Nice list.
Wheel of time, player killing mud. Kill trollocs, wield the one power, fight the Whitecloak or the Shadow. Assist friends, slay enemies. Level your character to 50, and let the wheel of time weave your destiny. TGHMUD(dot)org
It's not that I object to your vision of the characters, but I do hope from the depths of my heart that if they really turn Wheel of Time into a movie, they'll make it animated. And NOT CGI either, but with real drawings. I don't think there will be any other way they can do it justice. Having said that, I hope they never turn the books into movies, because it's bound to fail.
I like it but aginor is supposed to be old as fuck, the guy for sammael should be shorter, i don't think Rhavin is black or they would have said he looks like the Sea Folk in the book, I think the girl you want to play lanfear is a bit too old, but she is def hot as fuck i'd tap that in a second, for the others I like them all, but I think grandael should be more voluptuous but she is still hot
@slydog75 I dont really see Lan being a kind of brute warrior but rather a slim, agile killer and thus should be played by one. Somewhat like brad pitt is playing akilles in Troy, slim ,agile and unstoppable.
@bombadill8891 Exactly. Lan is more like Clint Eastwood in build and feel, maybe a bit more in the shoulders. But grizzled and with that 1000 yard stare that you just don't ever want to eff with. Don't know who could really pull him off atm.
nice pics man, very imaginative, and i can see where your coming from. but realistically, their would likely be alot of unknowns in this cast, as well as the main characters, it would simply be too expensive to cast all these stars, at millions per movie each, with no idea how it will be received by non-fans, a cast like this could bankrupt the whole project if the first movie is not well recieved at the box office.
however, if red eagle, and universal do it right, it will be a huge success.
Lanfear - my top choice has always been Monica Belluci.
Rahvin - I don't think Rahvin is black. He's dark skinned, but I think of it mostly as tanned so I'm suggesting a good-looking (he was mentioned as very handsome) dark Latino.
I disagree with most of your choices. Particularly Graendal and Ishamael/Baalzamon. Graendal is supposed to be voluptuous, not skinny like Kate Hudson. I also think your vision of Rahvin is way off. He's supposed to blend in with Morgase's court (Andorans have pale skin exclusively), not stand out like a sore thumb. Halle Barry is too pale to be Semirhage. She needs darker skin, kind of like your choice for Rahvin. I do think your Be'lal and Samael are spot on, however.
I would put Alan Rickman under Demandred, he even got the nose for it. And Halle Berry as Semirhage feels really weird. She doesn't have the face for it. Nevertheless, good list.
This is great!!! Lanfear looks just as I'd picture her--manipulative yet beautiful. Well done on the choices! I cannot begin to wonder how much time you have spent on creating all these well thought-out videos!
don't like who you chose for Sammael, Sammael is supposed to be short, that's one of the reasons he's jealous of the dragon, and his jealously is the main point about the character...
I love all your choices. I have seen many such videos. The problem is I think they are going to have to go with unknown actors and actresses. The reason being is that the series had SO many characters that you could not possibly pay a cast of such famous people. The movie would cost 2 or 3 hundred million just in cast salary. When the movies do come out I think you're going to see alot of unknowns unless the elites are willing to work for less.
rahvin is never described as black. he is described as dark initially, with streaks of white despite how handsome he is. this first description when mat meets him while talking to morgase COULD be interpreted as rahvin being black but it never says dark complexioned.
he is compared in looks to galad, and he is described as tall, dark and handsome. while that can still mean he is black, it is unlikely since that description is usually reserved in literature to describe white men, and because aside from some southern countries and the sea folk, the population of northern countries like andor are white. a black man would stand out and be remarked upon the way the seanchen or the ath'an miere are talked about especially if he was a man of authority.
Oh, I knew that was Sammael before the name came up, and the other pics just confirmed it. Well done on that one! And, well, Catherine Zeta-Jones is simply beyond stunning, and she could pull off nutso jealous chick. Interesting choice for Asmo, too. These are fun!
I like your video-editing style; the accompaniment parades the pictures along nicely, and establishing the reason behind each of your choices with more than one portrait is very effective. I disagree with several of your selections, but as you've pointed out these imaginary casts are totally subjective. :)
YourDentist007: Semirhage was established as black in Winter's Heart. I cannot begin to imagine what being "gruesome" has to do with being white.
Awesome, thanks for all your comments. We totally expect people to disagree with picks we've made. Thats some of the best comments we get, is others giving their own opinions. I may not agree with theirs', but I'll respect them.
Ahem.. I should say, up and until people start changing characters' races, ethnic background, and ultimately screwing around with the story.. I hope your reading this RED EAGLE.. LOL.. Just joshin' ya. You have all my faith, just don't abuse it. Deuces.
Ummm.. Thank you 06439268, those were my exact sediments exactly. There were two black forsaken. One, was indeed Semirhage. The other, was Rahvin. So, I hate to burst your little bubble of ingenuity by changing the authors written, bound, and mass country published character in HIS story, but.. SHE IS A BLACK, SADISTIC, EVIL, TWISTED FEMALE. BEWARE OF HER.
BTW.. Were you insinuating that only an older, WHITE woman is capable of torturing someone for fun...? LMAO.. Wow.
@aerosmith47 im rereading them at the moment and im on lord of chaos and it has yet to describe any of them as black people but w.e it doesnt rly matter 2 me nice video
Have you picked who would like to be for the reborn Forsaken yet? Becuase Aginor, Balthamel, Lanfear and Ishamael weren't killed with balefire the dark one ressureced them as Osan'gar, Aran'gar, Cyndane and Moridin.
I'm not sure if Lanfear died, but she fell through the doorway ter'angreal with Moraine, so either she died or the Dark Lord had to put her in a new body in order to get her out, because it is generally agreed that Cyndane is Lanfear reborn.
It's been my belief that Cyndane is indeed Lanfear reborn. Moiraine was supposed to "maybe" have survived the ter'angreal fall too, but the fact that Lan couldn't feel her anymore makes me wonder. Of course in a ter'angreal Lan probably wouldn't have a sense of direction for long like Rand always did with Alanna after she warded him. So many questions hopefully to be answered in the last 2 parts of the 12th book "trilogy"
hmmm Wes Snipes doesn't strike me as being so manipulative...and I kinda see Rena Sofer as lanfear...other then that...not bad choices...no big named mega stars...mostly character actors which would work better
I think you are right about Graendal, but you got Lanfear wrong, Lanfear shuld be Angelina Jolie! She is much hotter and she is good to play evil. Like in Beowulf
I think Christian Slater should play Ishamael. He just seems to be the closest to the man I had imagined taunting LTT, and curing him of the Taint in the prologue to Eye of the World.
Excellent picks! You're the first one to correctly cast Catherine Zeta-Jones (as the psycho ex). I think Christopher Walken could do his role without makeup ;)
I really like your choice for Graendal - Kate Hudson - she looks perfect!!
I never really though of Ravin as black (was that mentioned in the books?). Anyway, I can totally see what u mean casting Wesley Snipes - he could play Ravin to a tee!!
Thanks! ^_^ She has always been the epitomy of what Graendal looks like in my head. The same goes for Asmodean and Rahvin. Both Rahvin and Semirhage are black (both are mentioned as being so in the books).
@aerosmith47 Sorry bro. Rhavin is NOT black in the books. the ONLY black people are some of the seanchan, like Tuon. none of the forsaken are black. not being racist- the main continent is a model of medieval europe. think about it Tear=Spain Andor=Germany Carhien=Austria. No africans. as badass as that would admittedly be.
As for who i think would be a good Rahvin, think more George Clooney.
The only black people are some of the Seanchan...?? Ummm... First of all, aren't you forgetting a good majority of an entire race of people? Many of the Sea Folk, indeed, are black. Some are heavily tanned, as Rahvin himself may be, which is still up for debate as far as I'm concerned... As someone else pointed out, he could very well be seen as having a middle eastern skin tone. And as for NONE of the Forsaken being black... sigh... Semirhage was black. Sorry bout that.. LOL
I believe that Wesley Snipes could make a great Rahvin; he's a very convincing actor! Only problem is that numerous times in the books it talks about Rahvin and his sideburns graying at the temples :-/
It's funny but MY brother and I obsess over the Wheel of Time books too.

Have you picked who would like to be for the reborn Forsaken yet? Becuase Aginor, Balthamel, Lanfear and Ishamael weren't killed with balefire the dark one ressureced them as Osan'gar, Aran'gar, Cyndane and Moridin.

Lanfear too?

I'm not sure if Lanfear died, but she fell through the doorway ter'angreal with Moraine, so either she died or the Dark Lord had to put her in a new body in order to get her out, because it is generally agreed that Cyndane is Lanfear reborn.

@Randomicity912

@xphile77 Well, I have the Towers of Midnight with me here right now, and so far it is an amazing read. :)

@xphile77 you really gotta read the latest books man...don't wanna spoil anything for ya, but there it is

hmmm Wes Snipes doesn't strike me as being so manipulative...and I kinda see Rena Sofer as lanfear...other then that...not bad choices...no big named mega stars...mostly character actors which would work better

I like alot of your picks but I don't see kiefer sutherland as ishamael at all

kiefer sutherland as ishamael. perfect =)

Nice.
I guess everyone agrees that Catherine-Zeta Jones should play Lanfear lol. Anyway, nice job (again).

@MattBOrange
LOL

@redrat19851985
I believe that Wesley Snipes could make a great Rahvin; he's a very convincing actor! Only problem is that numerous times in the books it talks about Rahvin and his sideburns graying at the temples :-/
