  • If you want a PC to look like OS X, the best themes are for XP. And they're literally 1:1.

  • @MysticTrunksHQ thanx man. but i'm like off the idea for now. I will try to get a macbook soon....

  • @MysticTrunksHQ if you want your PC to look AND run like OS X get a Mac

  • What are the specs on this machine? I just came into possession of a Pentium M 1.3 Ghz R40.

  • get the hacked version osx cd/dvd image. try to boot from cd. if can, you may try to install. if you cannot, means ur hardware is not supported. good luck.

  • How do you do that

  • what drivers and whate distro did you use

  • well, try to get the kalyway's mac os x 10.5...

  • Is there any detailed step by step instructions somewhere on how to do this? I never get past the boot screen.

  • it will be great if i have the cash. currently i dont have it, so i will stick to what I have. But thing is that i will know alot more things about my OS than any other normal mac users who just play with the desktop and apps... i am planning on buying a macbook, but it will take some time though....

  • ooooh... What is a hackintosh and how do you get it?

  • @MysticTrunksHQ I'm not spending 1400-3000 dollars on an fucking intel machine just because it has a mac logo. Intel Macs aren't any different than dells or IBMs anymore so why would I pay 1400 for a macbook when I can get a dell for 500?

  • @MysticTrunksHQ

get BSD and throw your mac away...they don't make their own hardware from 2006

    :)

  • @MysticTrunksHQ

Uh, yes they will. Apple does not make their own hardware! They just make their own fucking motherboards. Everything else is made by AMD, Intel, Nvidia or other companies. Plus, a hackintosh can be optimized with custom kexts.

  • hey guys.. sorry for not writing. actually i've been really slow in the development of os x.. eventhough i recently got leopard.. i'm putting some extra effort on linux and unix and currently heavily searching for a new place to work which that focus (linux) in mind.

  • i installed deadmoo on it and made a 12gb partitsion whit darwin and copyed it to there works great sees: ethernet, video(whit opengl!!!),usb, keyboard, trackpad :)! its quite fast for 512mb ram and 2ghz! pached it whit maxxuss sse2 and exec pach :D. il try to get a nice old iBook *PPC i like ppc more its more mac like and there is still most software universal!

  • I'm trying to install mac os x on my r51 with the iAtkos image and it's been sitting at the white loading screen for 20 min

  • dude. You are ruining a lovely PC! lol Naw its good... if you find OS X easier. I personally like Windows XP I use it on the R60. And I love how the Thinkpads look. They are the Indestructible Black Boxes of Power.

  • Not if you're a developer.

  • Not if he owns a copy of OS X (if he did it with his copy at the very least).

  • really its illegal its in the eula u cant run os x on enithing else than apple hardware, but i did it myself so who cares :D

  • cool, i just got a thinkpad r40 p4 2.2 for 150 bucks, beat up a lil, but im lovin it

  • Hi,

i also have a thinkpad r40 and i'm interested to install mac os x.

i have allready installed mac os x, but i can't boot from it. what is the configuration you did? can you post it here?

  • i don't have the cash yet. i'm just starting to build a family. yeah... hte IBM is ugly.. hahahaha. i hope to get a mac next year. its been my dream since year 2000. but mac is just to expensive for me. thanx for your comments! will work hard to earn a mac!

  • goint to try it too =D

  • good luck. you need alot of patience and alot of reading and browsing the osx86 forum sites!

  • i use the fdisk partition tool that comes with linux distro. simple and but does the work well. u need to use a linux installer disk, then do fdisk and do all the changes to the partition scheme. then, reboot and go install mac os x.

  • hei im got now tiger x86 and thinking to install it too (on my R40)its 512MB Ram and 2GHz P4 Mobile 20GB HDD is it ok and does os x find all the drives (enternet, usb, soundcard and video card) it works nicely on VMware

  • what is a drive partion software you would reccomend?

  • of course. a lot of ppl have done it. make a normal primary partition, then change the type to af. then, boot using the hacked mac os x installation cd and install on that partition.

  • by af you mean, oh wow they have a new spell checker...(af is underlined red)

  • can you partion your drive and make mac run on it? without interfering with anyting on the other partion? i don't want anything bad to happen.

  • of course u can. alot of ppl have done it. u need to get a partitioning tool and create a primary partition but change the type to af. then, later install the mac os x on this partition. still, backup your data just in case.

  • Your english is *very* hard to understand, unfortunately. But, nice video, thanks. :)

  • sorry bout that.. but i really have a lousy cam.. i cant help it...

  • That's ok. :) Do you have any hardware issues concerning running OSX on your ThinkPad? Is all hardware supported?

  • i do have issue. both of my wireles pcmcia card is not working.. cisco 340 and orinoco. screensaver crashes when i tried running it.. the rest seems ok. loved it.

  • Are you still running it? Or did you remove it from your ThinkPad?

  • of course i'm still running it. can't wait to get a copy of leopard..

  • nice video..thank's for posting.
