Mr. Jonathan Porritt of the SDS should try some industrial strength colon cleanse and in just several days, he can SH%T his life away, eliminate his own carbon footprint, and make the planet greener. I think that would procure a ray of hope in our environmental future's best interest
I understand what you mean, i guess it's a case of what you think the issues are. In this case I feel that the environment is a separate issue, and as such I go elsewhere for my political debates. I do understand (and sympathise) with your perspective though, I just feel there are many people who need reigning in so much more than Mr Monbiot!
I don't care if it's partisan, or not shared by other 'greens', I stand by my criticism of Monbiot and all the other Liberals who cloud the issues and who are frankly a pain in the arse.
GM has constantly stated that he believes that the climate movement can straddle political affiliations and classes, and the view displayed by the posting of this video is a partisan attitude certainly not shared by other greens. I believe in the faults of capitalism, but this is not what environmentalism is about, and childoflewin is wrong to mix the 2 together in order to question Monbiot on this topic. The green agenda is not a ticket for you to further your political beliefs my friend.
Stop talking out of your arses guys. George is simply saying that we need to set the parameters for carbon emissions that will help us avoid disaster. Once those limits are established, then we have to utilise whatever technology we have available to us to meet those limits. I don't think Monbiot is holding back the movement rather people like childoflewin are. A call for climate change is not a call for the fall of capitalism, and George is within his rights to take part as an environmentalist.
I think many people miss the point when talking about climate change. The perceived causes of global warming- pollution, deforestation, consumption etc etc- all have other very real undebatable detrimental effects regardless of whether or not they warm the planet. Loss of biodiversity is measurable, waste and pollution is evidently bad (look at the Great Pacific Garbage Patch), and who wants more grey cement where green forests used to be? Capitalism is greedily wringing the earth dry.
Brian Wilson is an idiot. He's saying that nuclear is needed when it clearly isn't. He's been listening to those lobbyists instead of looking at the evidence.
Are you hiding from looking at any scientific evidence?
You're someone who's expecting an ice cube to melt the moment you switch you fridge off.
Does your car stop on the spot the moment that you hit the brakes?
Do your radiators go cold the moment the boiler isn't burning gas?
Matter has mass which heats and cools over time. It's dreamers like you that are committing people in the future to high sea levels. You must be dreaming to not understand what we're doing to our planet.
Britain has left it far too late to dump coal & nuclear power now. At the v least it will have to be a transitional energy source.
Once the public begin to go cold, food prices shoot up and there are massive job losses the public will demand coal/nuclear & anything else. Climate change or not.
These people should watch the excellent documentary called The Great Global Warming Swindle also on youtube which debunks the theory that global warming is caused by human produced CO2 emissions.
monbiot is a good man

Every time Monbiot catches his dick in the zip, he and his followes blame global warming. Monbiot is an avowed anti-capitalist, pedalling a book.
You have allowed yourselves to be swept along on a global warming industry, very expensive indeed, but bereft of anything other than conjecture.
Use hockey sticks for hockey, and not for statistics.

What a bunch of dreamers.
Loud-mouthed dreamers.
I am still waiting for the sea level to rise.
I am still waiting for the first hint of temperature rise.
"Two degrees of global warming"??? From where did he get that thesis? Did he write it himself?
