I saw them at Palladium in Dallas for their first tour a couple years ago. It was amazing. Favorite song, and one of my favorite venues.

I've never had the pleasure of meeting him in person and the chances are I never will. But I've read his interviews and have encountered him saying bad things about fangirls he meets, (though he seems an angry guy in general) but please, I can say anything I want about Kyo on the internet. -_-

Dude, Dir en grey was recommended to me by a girl in Shibuya and she sent me Obscure. I was impressed and I had no idea what the band even looked like. Of course I looked them up and bought their CDs. Actually, Kyo's physical appearance alone isnt really my type since I was never into japanese men. It's his powerful stage presence and emotive performances that make him attractive.

Don't think that all fangirls are the same. But the thing is, there's no denying the majority of fans are girls.

there are exceptions to everything but you can look up any dir en grey video and it's almost a guarantee that you will not see 'this song is good, the lyrics are good, the atmosphere is good', what you will see is 'OMG KyOooO is so hot omg *explodez* ^_____^'

Well, most people are into the simple pleasures of life and I personally dont mind girls swooning over rockstars. It happens all the time and has been the same eversince MTV was invented.

Its just that in my opinion I really didnt find Kyo attractive *at first* (he was freaky hideous in Obscure). I do love them for their music since thats what I was originally exposed to. Plus give me a break, all the previous bands I've listened to has UGLY MEN. Diru is the first band I've liked with hot guys

What I do find somewhat annoying is the fact that a lot of people are into j-rock just because they are Japanese. Dir en grey is one of two Japanese bands I listen to, the other being Supercar. I mean, if you like j-rock, fine, but hopefully for a reason other than being a weeaboo.

That aside, I just want to repeat that TOGURO IS PERFECT. Love the basslines, love the guitars. (Though one part of the lyrics is awkward. Loser human?)

they're pretty much the only japanese band i like, i don't even really consider that part of the reason i like them. the english translation to a ton of their songs have really funny or awkward sections that sound so bad or butchered, i just assume what he was trying to convey was not so strange or fractured when he wrote it.

I've been looking for a better translation but I haven't seen any. Unfortunately I dont know anyone who speaks proper Japanese other than that girl from Shibuya I mentioned who I have lost contact with.

But lol, so far I havent liked the songs credited exclusively to Kyo much (I kinda wish they would put individual credits again so I can see if he improved). He's really more of a lyricist. @_@

He doesn't always hit the high notes but I think it's because he doesn't want to strain his voice too much. Anyways, I just want them to continue doing music for as long as possible.

at first I didn't like toguro too much but it grew onto me, got catchy lol, they did great in NYC when they performed... Never forget when I actually got to meet them all
