People have the personal riggt to convert to any faith. If it was because of materiality then shame on the local sikh community for not supporting people like this man. What we are seeing in this video is the person was mentally pushed to convert in order to get help. I have people in my family who converted to christanity just because those organistations helped them when no one else did :( and unfortunately interviews are in that way :(
No one can mentally force someone to believe something. A Christian gives him some meds without obligation and that means forced conversion? No wonder Sikhism is dying with such silly ideas. the problem is that while many religions have values of love and charity, for the most part it is Christians actually practicing these values, and sharing Christ, and helping people. other faiths get angry, but then they don't do as much to help and serve people. i am a Christian. also, a person adopting a religious identify for food or money is not the same thing as a genuine faith in her Central Figure. that alone marks true conversion, and acceptance.

He never said he was forced to convert. He said he asked Christians for medication, they gave it to him and then prayed to God and decided to convert to Christianity. What we are seeing in this video is the person was mentally pushed to convert in order to get help. I have people in my family who converted to christanity just because those organistations helped them when no one else did :( and unfortunately interviews are in that way :(

You can be Sikh til the day you die ... but you cant bear to watch your kids go hungry or your spouse suffering while the religion you are ready to die for will not do a thing to help you!! the problem is that while many religions have values of love and charity, for the most part it is Christians actually practicing these values, and sharing Christ, and helping people. other faiths get angry, but then they don't do as much to help and serve people. i am a Christian. also, a person adopting a religious identify for food or money is not the same thing as a genuine faith in her Central Figure. that alone marks true conversion, and acceptance.

I am in tears. Some are stronger than others. It is for the stronger Sikhs to help those who are not as strong. This strengthens both. If some strong Singhs had stepped forward, this gentleman would not have "converted."
In any case "conversion" for material gain of any kind is not a true conversion. He is no more a Christian than I am a cucumber. Neither, however, is he a Sikh.

Had it been so, the sacrifices made by Sikhs were not needed. They could easily be lured to a lavish life but they preferred to die than embracing Islam.

@KhalsaAid You are correct, but I am sure that if he made his case to a larger group of Sikhs that they would have helped.. IF someone made this known to my Gurdwara in NY, then he would have had his money. I remember a Muslim or Hindu women who came to our Gurdwara needing money for her child's operation and within minutes donations totaled up to 10,000 dollars.
I find it ridiculous that these missionaries offer money (worldly possessions) to BUY someones spiritual soul. Ridiculous !!!!!!

We have the power to let him in or not. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if you hear me calling and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal as friends." Because of jatts attack on Harimandar Sahib happened (badal, tohra), then they failed to take revenge. Then they started claiming Shaheeds as Jatts: I.E. Hari Singh Nalwa (Mazhabi) Maharaja Ranjit Singh (Sansi), Baba Deep Singh (Kamboj), Sham Singh Attariwala (Tarkhan) and many others they claimed for personal gain.

he actually admits to having medication before he converted. he says, "the medication used to pass thru my system without working." Further he says he prayed before he converted .. but that his prayers were not answered. BUT after he became a Christian his prayers were finally answered and the medication started to work and he was cured.

The problem we have is that Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Ravidassi and Kabir Shaib taught us that we need a living Guru in the late period
Where as in the early period we have the Khalsa saying that the Adi Granth is your Guru.
Can you see the condradition.
Guru Nanak when visiting Ravidass wrote 40 of his Shabads where as he had hundreds.
Ravidass was born enlightenened when challenged by the Hindus that he changed the direction of the flow of the most scared holy River Ganges.

As a believer in Yahshua (Christ), I respect other faiths even if I don't agree or want to participate with their particular doctrine.
Therefore, I don't condone anyone being forced into a conversion of any faith. A true conversion into wanting to believe and follow Yahshua (Christ) should come within the heart of the believer.
Additionally, there are huge differences in the belief systems of Christianity just like any other faith. The only way to know is to ask the believer.

He got help after he converted from the Christians, and he, at the end, says that he prayed to god and did ardas before he converted. Throughout the interview he keeps mentioning bani, does not know the name of the church. I do not seek to bash Christianity, for we are all God's children; however, I want to show that conversions that happen with bribery or forcefulness, which this may be, does not settle itself into the heart.
