Here all we got is Hard concrete slabs to sleep on in a 5 by 8 cell for 23 hours a day.

I would rather stay in a Japanese prison than an American one, but a prison is a prison. The difference between American and Japanese ones is they are both strict but on different points. The Japanese require inmates to work and has strict guidelines to every behavior (just like in society). America doesn`t so ppl can have a lot of free time to get in gangs and trouble. If you listen to the guards they speak very harshly to the women. It`s very unpleasant to hear how the women are spoken to.
