Those seats don't look very good for first class. Why doesn't AA try and compete with the best airlines like Malaysia, Qatar etc...? Do they not have the money or do they not care? Why not personal suites for example?
My dad and I once flew first class like that from LAX to London and cost us around $21,000. A lot of money but was a lot of fun. All of the flight attendants were dancing and everyone on the plane had a great time. Long flight though.
@510kidscry You should try Singapore, KLM, Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa, Qantas, Air New Zealand, Malaysian. I travel frequently and been in all those. Not first class all the time but all in my opinion with the exception of maybe Malaysian are better than AA or any other American carrier for that matter.

I mean that was nine years ago, but I'll sacrifice a bit of comfort for longevity and overcoming adversity. I also fly standby on American and can go anywhere in the world in coach for free and first class is around 200 bucks, so I don't see myself flying any other airline.

@510kidscry Usually my travel expenses are usually paid for by foreign universities, so they usually pick foreign airlines cause of more frequent flights to Europe, Asia or Australia so it's more flexible. Singapore airlines is by far the best in every category, especially cabin service. I just like some of the bigger air crafts like B747, A340, A380 and B777. Cathey Pacific is also a really good one.

Can all of those first-class accommodations (luxuries/privileges) be found on an American 767. Because I think that depending on the size and the amount of time you're spending onboard limits "all" of those luxuries.
@JeremyOfMordhaus American Airlines does not feature a FIrst class on their international 767-300s. On the 762s they have a sleeper seat and all of the same amenities that the 777 does, so the only difference is the seat

I love AA i do fly Continental too but I much prefer AA i have found lately that standers at Continental have slipped alot and AA service is getting better and better. I have had both good and bad experences with both AA and CO but I find AA staff are much better and I love inflight service
I like Continental Airlines better. They treat you better than American. Checking in with American first class was terrible when I went from NRT-DFW. The check in person was rude and when I got to the lounge to relax b4 my flight. The lounge attendant confused me with a coach person and told me to leave. i got really mad and went to the Continental lounge and they allowed me in because of my lounge pass. American said sry but now i fly Continental as much as possible.
Actually swiss is really not that great. In fact, year after year, SIA takes the cake even before it introduced its private suites on the A380 which are miles above anything swiss has to offer. AA is crap, yes, but swiss gets beat out by a few of its rivals.
Just wanted to answer a couple of the questions that people have asked:
1) The flight was actually an upgrade from a $7k business class ticket. Obviously, company paid for it, as no flight is worth that kind of money (to me). Would have cost about $10k at face value for the 1st-class seat.
2) Yes, i felt a little awkward shooting the video, but I wanted to be able to share the experience with people back home, so I said, "screw it" and just did it.

Shocking! AA has a hell of a lot of catching up to do! For a first world country's flag carrier this is pityful... Only 30 movies to choose from, presented on a casette?? What the hell is that?? Manual seat controls... Shocking! I know this is a B777, but it seems to be as old as the hills! 1980's technology at it's best! And the food looked terrible! Absolutely nothing to be brag about...
i do have to admit that this seat is looking a nit tired, however i should point out that since then major improvements have been made. For instance, there is no more of the VHS casettes. I flew first class on British-Airlines on a 747 from london to Newark. It was insanely confortable and way to quick.
Of course, it was a business trip and I could never afford to do it myself.

Well this guy seems to be enjoying the AA standards. I'm flying to LA with wobbegongshark, first class. Despite my experience flying on my aunt's private jet, AA will be my 1st first class experience.

There is a phone in the seat. You all need to calm the f--- down! If one resides in Miami, and is flying to EZE, why would I fly an airline that does not have a hub in Miami non-stop. Sure, let me fly to Houston first and then on to EZE instead of non-stop. DUH.
