How do you explain people being completely outraged because US helicopters are invading the presidential palace and setting themselves there? they see this as a complete violation of their sovereignity. Doctors without Borders, amongst many are complaining that they have been bloocked of helping out people, a French official also wants the UN to determine US role in this, because they were blocking them.

Haitian peoples are not "violent savages". Even a US military high official stated the violence episodes are isolated, not a general condition. In a disaster of this magnitude, if after a week of disorganized rescue missions and the US hegemony of the Haitian airport were not making things harder, which is the cause, few isolated violent acts are not so strange and even something you'd expect to worsen.

The Army / Air Force needs to now work less on security, due to the face that there are very low levels of violence. What should they be working more on? Clearing up the runway at the airport; there are loads of supplies waiting on the runway to be transported, and military planes have been circling the island for days. My uncle left for Haiti Thursday night, and just landed yesterday.
