Guy of Gisbourne was the BEST character in this fucking awesome TV Series. Started off as an evil Sherrif's henchman, killing people who got in his way and acting like a jerk and even attempting to kill King Richard. fell in love with Marian and did a FEW good things for her. The when Marian died, his life went to hell and he became his own guy; the badass Guy who even turned on Prince John and Vaisy. FTW, GUY OF GISBOURNE!

Is it just me or is there something funny about how Gisborne is always getting hurt or screwed over by everyone? Now when I watch anything with Richard Armitage in it, I'm waiting for him to get slugged at his wedding or tortured by spies. When I don't see it, I think there's something wrong with his character. Lol. Even in North and South he is tortured for not having love returned to him. XD

I found myself becoming greatly attached to Guy of Gisborne and Richard Armitage himself, as the actor. I was so upset when the series ended, it's just amazing how you come to love something seemingly so small as a TV series. Great, great video, you almost made me cry. As for Guy, well, at least he's in a better place now.

I only watched the show because of RA. I wouldn't have even looked at it if it wasn't for him. And all through season 3 when my friends loathed him I held on, knowing deep down he was a good guy just as I had the first two seasons. Watching the series finale finally tonight made me very sad. But at least he was freed from the torment. I will miss Guy but can't wait for RA to do more work. I just love him.

Oh my goodness, best tribute ever! I completely agree with your description there too... that's exactly what happened- I hated him at first but RA's amazing acting and that wonderful story arc in Season 2 won me over completely! And it really is commendable the way he stuck with the character, making him believable in spite of the writers being horrible from the end of that season onward. Honestly he was the only reason I got through the last one! <3

I think Richard Armitage's wonderful, layered performance as Guy made many, many people love him . . . a man who had so much potential but had demons to overcome along the way . . . he needed love, he needed trust and someone whom he could trust. Sadly, that did not prove to be Marian . . . he died a novble death, but it still gutted me and I do feel as if someone I knew and loved died. I wish someone had been waiting there for him, too . . .

Sorry, I've got to comment again. RA is pretty much the only reason I started and continued watching RH.

I absolutely loved Guy, for unfathomable reasons that only became clear in Series 3. I actually cried when he died because you could see that deep down he wanted to be a good person, wanted to be loved.

This is an amazing video - I love the speech in the middle, that was one of my fave moments in RH. Also made me cry... Thanks so very much - will be saddened whenever I hear this song

I started watching Robin Hood for RA, so I liked Guy from the start, and with every new episode, I loved him more. RA is such a brilliant actor. I'd never been upset by the death of a fictional character until they killed Guy. However awful the scripts, RA made Gisborne a character worth caring about. In series 1 he was often seriously disturbing (yet strangely vulnerable), in series 2 he became lovable, and by the end of series 3 he was irresistible. He has definitely stolen my heart. Thank you Veritas - and Mr Armitage, we salute you :-)

I fell "in love" with the GofG caracter even in the 1980ies version of RH... Have NO idea why the bad boys (on screen - not IRL) are so tempting...must be the thought of salvation I guess... Anyway RA's GofG is by far the most brilliant one and I'll miss Guy so much. I still can't see Guy being stabed and dying without mumbeling "no, no, no"...

Richard Armitage created such a complex character. The character changed so gradually from season one until now. Does he even realize how talented he is?! Those soulful eyes, that warm voice,! Such talent to express detailed and subtle emotions! I still blame the writers for the ending of season two because that is something Richards Guy would never do but even that scene he played brilliantly. I will surely miss our favorite Guy

I completely agree with you. Richard took a character that could easily have been one- or two-dementional (with a description like "the Sheriff's sadistic liuetenant" and made Guy the most multi-faceted character on the show. It should have been impossible for us to like him, but Richard succeeded in making him sympathetic, even when he did something so heinous that we should have completely despised him. RA definitely showed his talent w/Guy--even when he didn't have much to work with.

Good Video but I gave up on this show when they killed Marian. I like Richard Armitrage & frankly I could see the redemption arc coming a mile off--I thought that RA would become the new Robin Hood. No matter how good RA is, I doubt I'll give series 3 a chance unless they find a way to bring Marian back, even if it's just Robin's departure scene. They really took my heart away with that ending. To this day, I haven't watched the last two episodes of Series 2. It was just too sad to contemplate.

According to Richard Armitage in interviews, if he really had had his way with the writing, Guy and Marian's relationship would have been deeper, more realistic and less repetitive. It's a shame it didn't come out like that, but even in late Series 1 and throughout Series 2, little flickers in Richard's eyes and acting portrayed a deeper side to the character long before the writers needed to wave his redemption in everyone's faces.
