I didn't like this show very much at first. But now that I think of it, its not as bad as RID or Energon was. Besides, it was more watchable and tolerable than both. So I'll cut this show some slack.

@flameheat1000 As soon as Armada was done, I went out and bought all of G1 and never regretted it. The DVDs are a lot cheaper now--I say go for it, especially if you enjoy campy things. As far as 80s cartoons go, it's a gem, though it's hard to say if it's "better." It's more a matter of preference.

@dhgfkj1 G1 is best, but Beast Wars was FAR from a "fail." It had likable characters, an original and interesting story, and was able to remain a children's show without being too childish for older viewers. In fact, Beast Wars was a huge pile of WIN!

@S0ryiu Remember, this was the very early days of CGI. Beats Wars was one of the first shows to use solely CGI, so of course its not going to look perfect. However, I think the well-done writing, witty dialogue and good characterization more than make up for the imperfect technology. As for the exclusively Japanese shows, I haven't seen them, and I never got interested enough in beast machines to finish it.

@shrederman38 Actually it was low budget work even for 1992. By that time flims had begun using CG for a while. Hell, the animation is on par with that of Captain Power and CP was amde in 87. I mean, just one year after BW started we had Jurrassic Park with it's photorealistic GC raptors.

@S0ryiu There is a big difference between a Hollywood movie and a tv show. You can't set the same bar for something that has to be produced weekly and something that took years to produce. Also, the CGI in Jurassic Park was cutting edge for the time, another reason you can't fairly compare the two.

I'll admit the first season sucked on toast, but after the introduction of characters like Weeljack, Armada did finally started to get in its element, characterisation. Armada has some of the best actual character developement next to Animated and the new one, transformers Prime. Especially Starscream.
