you need to make a video on grab counters my nephew keeps getting into fights and his neck and arms and cheeks are so brusied but i cant teach him cause in a fight i dont let no one get that close lol
you should make a video on how to control your breathing...because when i fight i get nervous and i start shaking and breathing heavily and i would like to know how to control that! :)
To get rid of flinching and eye blinking as something comes at me very fast, I made these "robot arms" that throw punches at real speeds to super human speeds. It has helped tremendously, and also in practicing blocking with counter punching. My reaction times have improved. Since there is no telegraph and the punches are random, it IS a challenge. Your video is good in showing other ways to train the eyes to keep on looking. A blink last 100 to 400 ms, that's long in a fight.
you have helped me alot in my school. cuz iv had 3 fights 2 of them year 10's and 1 of em yr 9 (im in yr 9) and i couldt get out of them andi did what u sed and i won and have now got a girlfriiend :P
Don't answer this if you don't want too but a lot of people say you find your inner strength when you experience your first fight. When was your first fight and how did it start?
Thanks. Personally I find tennis ball drills useful. Especially if you have 10+ people - half on one side of a room with a load of balls throwing them, half against the opposite wall just dodging. Very good for awareness, esp for multiple attackers, as you can't just focus on one direction.
A very, very bad tendency of mine is sometimes closing my eyes when grappling and it gets intimidating... all you can do is keep getting back on the horse I guess :)
Interesting vid! good thing I have a friend to spar :) I think the water slapping is actually a good way to train when your by your self. just don't drown XD
Hey dude, whenever I'm in a street fight situation my adrenaline kicks in and I star shaking. I'm not scared but my body just loses it.....how can I control this?
@heavymetaldeath4life Deep breaths, 4 secs breathe in, hold for a sec, 4 secs breathe out, hold, continue. Trust me even though it might not completely stop it because it comes down to your mental state, it will definitely help. But I'm no fight expert, just did some research.
@heavymetaldeath4life i know for real i almost got in a fight today and it was a fat dude so of course im not scared but my neck started throbbing and i started shaking a bit. i dont know how the fuck that happens
Nice vid, keep em comin. Got a question, some teachers when they are showing a technique like a punch or combination of punches on a student. Some of them hit the student in the face or where ever, hard but enough to cause damage. I was wandering why they do that?
@GraveRave I can't claim to know for sure my own martial arts training was strictly on pads or EXTREMELY light. But I can GUESS that some schools, particulary the more "high contact" gyms do it not only to sho how to react but also to build just a little bit of tolerance up in the students. So IN a real world situation they have at least an IDEA about what may be comming at them I know when I began teaching myself boxing the first thing HAD to do was learn how to take reasobaly hard punch.
My weak point in boxing is sometimes turning my head to the ground, but i'm working on it by slipping more and thinking about it. To become a better fighter you gotta learn and train a lot.
@Fowtowsjop ...kinda of a stiupid question. To get into a tournament/match you have to fight alot, train, sparing, etc... Fight matches dont just happen.
@Shmenman Your answer was even more stupid, i'm talking about STREET FIGHTS, like at school, or when you go out and some asshole is being a dick, not about Tournaments AND the training...Dumbass.
@Shmenman What is your reason for calling me a dumbass, did i ever flame you? NO, i didn't. If i would've known that i wouldn't ask him, so no reason to come in and act like a total dickhead.
I purposely keep this unknown to my viewers. This is nothing to be proud of, and I don't want to boast the number of street fights I've been in. I'd be more proud to say I've managed to talk my way out of every street fight... However, this is not the case. I have been in many street fights, which was a big reason why I got into competitive fighting. To read up on stories and personal accounts, check out the forums of fighttips.
@FightTipsVideos dude when you fight on the street you prove nothing iv learnt that a true martial artist would never do such thing my trainer kicked some one out of the gym once because they did that...dont get me wrong, if some one swings at u gata swing back but just never throw the first punch u know it aint what a real martial artist would do man
@SavvasO4 Ehm, you're saying that a "Real Martial Artist" doesnt fight anybody on the street, he said that he had talked himself out of several fights, which means that it came from an arguement, real Martial Artists DO fight on the streets but only when neccesary.

its a ring, not a catwalk. get rid of the hoodie, you don't need to act tough.

pureskill17 1 year ago
@pureskill17 maui thai, it shows you a lot more and when your in a fight you should use elbows knees and kicks, not just your fists.

@pureskill17 why not take lessons for both?

@mistajerkinren I'm gonna re-cover blocking, then countering, then footwork. All of those and this video will work together.

What about faking punches? Like fooling an opponent into trying to block a haymaker when a jab comes their way.

minor suggestion: make sure your TV's off when you're shooting. No biggy, but a little distracting. Another interesting vid.
